4.5 SETTINGS/ALTERNATIVES IN THE DIFFERENT MAIN FUNCTIONS
To open the different settings/alternatives related to every main function just press YES (FIG. 011) when in the
specific function. When settings are entered, the small flashing arrows indicate that you can reach other settings/
alternatives by pressing UP or DOWN. For example if you press YES when in the GPS function the LCD will look
like this. (FIG. 036). If you want to go to waypoint stored earlier just press YES (and you will be able to select which
of the stored ones you want to go to). If you want to see what other settings/alternatives are available, press UP or
DOWN. If you do not want to alter or make any settings (or when you have finished your settings and want to exit
the setting mode back to the main function) just press NO (ESC).
Note! The procedure is the same for all settings/alternatives related to every main function:
1. When in a main function, press YES to reach the settings/alternatives related to that function.
2. Find the required setting/alternative by pressing UP or DOWN.
3. When the required setting/alternative is found just press YES (it sometimes shows SET) to open it.
4. Make the required changes by using UP/DOWN and LEFT/RIGHT and when finished press YES (SET). (If you
change your mind when in the setting mode, you can always leave it without having made any changes by
pressing NO (ESC)).
4.5.1 MORE SETTINGS (FOUND IN ALL MAIN FUNCTIONS)
The MORE SETTINGS set-up is found under all different settings/alternatives menus. Here you can find settings
that you normally only set once (or at least very seldom) for speed unit, distance unit etc.
4.5.1.1 PRESSURE UNIT
Here you select unit for the air pressure. Available units are HPA (hectoPascal), INHG (inches of mercury), MMHG
(millimetres of mercury) and MBAR.
4.5.1.2 ALTITUDE UNIT
Here you select the unit for altitude. Available units are METRES and FEET.
4.5.1.3 DISTANCE UNIT
Here you select the distance unit. Available units are KM (kilometres) NAUTIC M (nautical miles) and MILES (miles).
4.5.1.4 SPEED UNIT
Here you select unit for the distance. Available units are KM/H (kilometres per hour), M/S (metres per second),
KNOTS (knots) and MILES/H (miles per hour).
4.5.1.5 TEMP UNIT
Here you select unit for the temperature. Available units are CELSIUS (Celsius) and FAHRENHEI (Fahrenheit).
4.5.1.6 NORTH REF
Here you select your north reference. Available alternatives are TRUE NORTH, MAGNETIC
NORTH and GRID NORTH. This setting depends on which north reference system you have on your map. Normally
maps use true north i.e. meridians that are directed towards the Geographic North pole. If your map has geographic
meridians as the north reference you select TRUE NORTH. Some maps though are using ”magnetic meridians”
i.e. meridians that are directed towards the Magnetic North pole (that is towards where the magnetic compasses
are pointing). If your map has magnetic meridians as north reference you select MAGNETIC NORTH. On maps with
grid and Lat/Lon reference systems or on maps with grid systems only (such as UTM, MGRS, Swedish grid, UK
Grids etc.) there is a need for the possibility to use the grid lines as the north reference. If you wish to use the grid
lines as the north reference you select GRID NORTH. Read more about different reference systems in chapter 6.
