Disposal of batteries
Used batteries may not be disposed of in domestic waste.
Batteries can contain poisons which are damaging to
the environment. Therefore, dispose of the batteries/
rechargeable batteries in accordance with statutory
regulations. All consumers are statutorily obliged to dis-
pose of batteries at a collection site in their community/
city district or with a collection company.
The purpose of this requirement is to ensure that bat-
teries are disposed of in an environmentally friendly
manner.
