To remove the hot baking tray 9 or the rack 0,
hook the tongs q onto them as follows:

Before initial use
1) Insert the plug into a mains power socket.
2) Remove any installed accessories from the
cooking chamber.
3) Turn the temperature control 3 clockwise to
the maximum temperature (to the stop).
4) Turn the function switch 4 to "upper and lower
heat"
.
5) Open the glass door 7 and leave it open for
this operation.
6) Wait for 10 minutes.
NOTE
Minor smoke emissions caused by manu-
facturing residues may occur. Ensure there
is suffi cient ventilation. For example, open a
window.
7) Then set the function switch 4 to "large hot-
plate - 1500 W" and the "small hotplate" level
switch 5 to level 4.
8) Wait for 3 minutes.
NOTE
Minor smoke emissions caused by manu-
facturing residues may occur. Ensure there
is suffi cient ventilation. For example, open a
window.
9) Allow the appliance to cool down, then clean
the appliance as described in the chapter
"Cleaning and care".
The appliance is now ready for use.
