Overview

This document describes the SilverCrest Mechanical Socket Timer, a device designed for controlling the on/off times of connected electrical appliances.

Function Description

The SilverCrest Mechanical Socket Timer is a daily timer switch intended for private use in enclosed, dry rooms. It allows users to set specific switching times for connected devices, enabling automatic power on and off. The timer operates with a clock ring and switching pins. Each switching pin corresponds to approximately 15 minutes of switching time. Users push down the pins to set the desired "on" periods. The device also features a toggle switch to select between two operating modes: switching mode (timed operation) and continuous mode (constant power).

In switching mode, the device will activate and deactivate the connected load according to the set switching times. For example, if pins are pushed down to cover the period from 8:30 pm to 10:30 pm, a connected load will be switched on during this time. The clock ring is used to adjust the current time, aligning it with a specific marking on the timer.

The device is equipped with a child-proofing feature, requiring both pins of a plug to be inserted into the socket simultaneously.

Important Technical Specifications

  • Model/Type number: 10615A/TE-10
  • Operating voltage: 240V~ 50Hz
  • Switched voltage: 240V~ 13(2)A
  • Switching capacity: max. 3120W
  • Shortest switching time: approx. 15 minutes
  • Power reserve: none (meaning it does not retain time settings during a power outage)
  • Use: Indoors only
  • Micro-switch: With a contact opening width of < 3 mm

Usage Features

Setting Switching Times (Fig. A): To set the times when the connected device should switch on or off, use the switching pins (4). With a pointy object, such as a pen, push one or several pins down until they lock into place. Each pushed-down pin represents approximately 15 minutes of "on" time. For example, if the grey pins in Figure A mark 8:30 pm to 10:30 pm, the load will be switched on during this period. To disable a set switching time, push the corresponding pins back up.

Selecting the Operating Mode: The timer can operate in either switching mode (timed operation) or continuous mode (constant power).

  • Activating Switching Mode:

    1. Plug the device into a socket.
    2. Connect and switch on the load.
    3. Slide the toggle switch (5) all the way into the clock symbol (①) position until it locks in.
  • Activating Continuous Operation:

    1. Plug the device into a socket.
    2. Connect and switch on the load.
    3. Slide the toggle switch (5) all the way into the "I" symbol (①) position until it locks in.

Adjusting the Time: To set the current time:

  1. Turn the clock ring (1) in the direction of rotation (2).
  2. Align the current time with the marking (3).
  3. Plug the device into a socket to switch it on.
  4. Connect and switch on the load.
