As the ear canal is
slightly curved, pull the
ear gently up and back
before inserting the sensor tip

so that the sen-
sor tip

can be orientated directly towards the
eardrum.
Positioning infants under
twelve months of age:
Place the infant on their
side so that one ear
faces upwards.
Gently pull the ear back
before carefully inserting
the sensor tip
1
into the ear.
Positioning infants over
twelve months of age:
Stand slightly to the side
behind the infant.
Gently pull the ear back
and up, before carefully
inserting the sensor tip
1
into the ear.
Carefully insert the sensor tip
1
and press the
ON/OFF/MEASURE button

for one second.
