FRESH WATER SYSTEM
The purpose of the Fresh Water Sys-
tem is to provide a supply of pressurized
potable water to the Galley, Heads, and
Transom Exterior Shower on demand and
as needed. Your 42C has two (2) sepa-
rate systems that are independent of each
other and they are identifi ed as follows:
• Fresh Water Pump System
• Dockside Water Supply System
Fresh Water Pump System
The Fresh Water Pump System on your
42C consists of the following components:
Fresh Water Tanks
(200 gallon capacity):
The fresh water tanks are located on the
outboard sides of the engine room of your
42C. There are two (2) tanks (100 gallons
each). The photo below shows the star-
board fresh water tank.
The Mechanical Schematic in the SCHE-
MATICS SECTION of this manual shows
the location of the fresh water tanks. They
are fi
lled through a fi ll fi tting that is marked
“WATER” on the fi ll cap, which is located
on the port side of the forward access
steps. The photo below shows the Waste
Discharge cap and to its right is the Fresh
Water Fill cap.
The Fresh Water fi ll is on the right in the
photo. The Deck Layout in the Schematics
Section of this manual will show the loca-
tion of the Fresh Water Fill.
Fill the fresh water tank ONLY with
potable water that is safe for drinking.
DO NOT fi ll with water that may be of
questionable quality as serious illness
or death may occur.
Fresh Water Pump:
The fresh water pump is located on the
forward wall of the engine room. The
fresh water pump operates on DC electri-
cal power controlled by a breaker switch
located on the AC/DC Electrical Panel.
The fresh water pump is equipped with
an automatic pressure switch and, when
it is supplied with electrical power, it will
operate until the entire fresh water system
is pressurized to a preset level. Once the
