Before service work, turn off PTO, set parking brake, ignition, and disconnect spark plug wire(s).
Remove and retain hardware securing deflector. Secure rear rod to deck with original hardware.
Install the deflector spring in the center deflector notch.
Install deflector, spring, 3/8 washer, and rod clamp on the rod.
Wind spring 1/2 turn, force deflector down, secure rod clamp with original hardware.
