INSTALLATION
1. Remove the mower deck. Refer to Operator’s
Manual (see Mower Deck Removal & Installation).
2. See Figure 2. Remove the blades. Use a block of
wood to prevent blade rotation while loosening the
capscrew by turning it counterclockwise.
Before beginning any service work turn off the
PTO, set the parking brake, turn off the ignition,
remove the key, and disconnect the spark plug
wire(s).

General Safety Precautions

Turn off PTO, set parking brake, remove ignition key, and disconnect spark plug wire(s) before service.

Installation Steps

Remove Mower Deck

Remove the mower deck, referring to the Operator's Manual for procedure.

Remove Mower Blades

Remove existing mower blades using a block of wood to prevent rotation while loosening.

Install New Mower Blades

Reinstall new blades with lift wings pointing upwards, securing with washers and capscrew to specified torque.

Remove Old Baffle

Remove and discard the short blowout baffle, carriage bolts, and locknuts from the mower deck.

Install Baffles and Mounting Plate

Install RH and LH baffles using carriage bolts/push nuts, and attach mounting plate with carriage bolts and nuts.

Install Mulch Cover Assembly

Lift discharge deflector, insert mulch baffle assembly into mounting plate, and secure rubber strap.

Blade Compatibility Note

New mulching blades do not need changing for side discharge; bagging requires a different blade.
