Before each use
Prepare yourself and others
• Be sure the area is clear of other people before mowing.
Stop unit if anyone enters the area.
• Make sure you can reach all controls from operator’s position.
• Wear appropriate clothing, safety goggles and safety gloves.
Prepare the area
• Clear the area of objects such as rocks, tree twigs, wire, etc.,
which can be picked up and thrown by the blades.
• Remove large obstacles such as lawn furniture, toys, tree
limbs, garden hose, etc.
Prepare the machine
• Check brake operation frequently. Adjust and service
as required.
• Keep all nuts and bolts, especially blade attachment bolts,
tight and keep equipment in good condition.
• Check that crankcase is filled to full mark on dipstick. See
the engine manual for instructions and oil recommendations.
• To reduce fire hazard, keep the engine, tractor and mower
deck free of grass, leaves, excess grease or other debris
build-up. Clean up oil or fuel spillage.
