A-5
Fuel precautions
• Always observe safe fuel handling practices when
refueling the tractor. Fuel is highly flammable and vapors
are explosive. Handle with care. Do not allow open flame,
smoking or matches in the area. Do not smoke while
handling gasoline.
• Never remove fuel cap or add fuel with the engine running.
Never fill the tank when the engine is still hot from recent
operation. Always allow the engine to cool before refueling.
• Never refuel the unit indoors. Never store the unit or fuel
container inside where there is an open flame or pilot light,
such as near a water heater.
• Avoid overfilling the fuel tank. Fill the fuel tank slowly to
the bottom of filler neck. Wipe up spills immediately.
• Use only an approved container.
• Do not mix oil with fuel. Refer to engine manual for
fuel recommendations.
• Drain fuel into an approved container outdoors away
from open flame or sparks.
Beware of potential fire hazards
To reduce fire hazard, keep the engine and mower deck free
of grass, leaves and excess grease. Do not stop or park tractor
over dry leaves, grass or combustible materials.
