Burnish PTO clutch
1. Engage the parking brake, start the tractor, and set engine
speed to full throttle.
2. Engage the PTO switch (A) for fifteen seconds, then
disengage it and wait for the mower blades to stop.
3. Repeat step 2 ten times taking note of mower blade
stopping time. (Stopping time must be five seconds or
less.) If the unit fails this test, perform the PTO clutch
adjustment found in the “Regular Maintenance” section
or replace the clutch.
Purge transmission
If the transmission is excessively noisy or unresponsive,
perform the transmission purging procedure found in the
“Adjustments and Service” section.
Perform safety system tests
Perform the safety interlock system tests found in the
“Regular Maintenance” section.
These tests MUST be performed during initial
setup to verify correct safety system function.
