Why won't my Simplicity ZT2000 Lawn Mower engine start?

  Your Simplicity Lawn Mower engine might fail to start due to several reasons. Ensure the ground speed levers are locked in the START/PARK positions and the PTO (electric clutch) switch is in the OFF position. Check if the parking brake is engaged and the fuel valve is open. The engine may be flooded, so open the choke. Other potential issues include an empty fuel tank (allow to cool if hot before refilling), old fuel (drain and replace), dirty battery terminals (clean them), a discharged battery (recharge or replace), or water in the fuel (drain and refill). For wiring, solenoid, starter motor, safety interlock switch, circuit breaker issues, please see authorized service dealer. Also, ensure the spark plugs are in good condition.

If that doesn't solve the issue, it could be due to a broken belt, a slipping drive belt, a brake that is not fully released, or an internal transmission problem.
