BIAS,

show
you
how
to
set
these
controls
in
the
Model
1000
to
arrange
the
proper
circuit
for
a
tube
before
you
place
the
tube
in
its
socket.
The
last
two
columns
indicate
that
you
press
PUSH
BUTTONS
to
check
for
SHORTS
(or
inter-element
leakage)
and
to
prepare
the
tube
circuit
for
the
final
value.test.
After
you
have
pressed
the
VALUE
button,
or
buttons,
there
are
two
more
steps
which
do
not
show
on
the
roll
chart
because
they
are
the
same
for
every
tube
tested:
press
the
LINE
TEST
push
button
to
connect
the
proper
voltages
to
all
tube
elements
and
correct
the
LINE
AD-
JUSTMENT
control
if
the
meter
indication
has
changed
from
its
ADJ.
LINE
mark;
then
press
the
TUBE
TEST
but-
ton
and
read
the
relative
value
of
the
tube’
s
operating
char-
acteristics
on
the
meter.
FILAMENT
SWITCH
The
setting
of
the
FILAMENT
switch
according
to
the
in-
formation
on
the
chart
will
tap
the
amount
of
filament
volt-
age
shown
at
the
switch
position.
The
BIAS
control
setting
shows
where
to
place
the
index
of
the
knob
to
duplicate
satisfactory
results
obtained
experimentally.
The
setting
for
the
RANGE
control
also
shows
where
the
index
of
the
knob
needs
to
point
in
order
to
duplicate
experimental
results.
TOGGLE
SWITCH
SELECTION
All
12
TOGGLE
switches
have
numbered
positions,
and
the
proper
position
for
each
toggle
is
specified
by
number
in
the
chart
listing.
