Overview

The Simpson MS31025H is a premium pressure washer designed for efficient and powerful cleaning tasks. Its primary function is to increase the pressure of a water supply, delivering a high-velocity stream for various cleaning applications. The unit is powered by an engine that drives the high-pressure pump, making it suitable for outdoor use where a strong cleaning force is required.

Usage Features:

The pressure washer is equipped with several features to enhance its usability and versatility. The handle assembly slides onto the frame and is secured with saddle bolts and knobs, providing a stable structure for operation and transport. The engine, which is shipped without oil, requires oil to be added before starting, with a spout provided for this purpose. Users should check the oil level prior to each use and refer to the Engine Owner's Manual for detailed instructions. For fuel, the unit requires fresh, high-quality, unleaded gasoline with a pump octane rating of 86 or higher, added in a well-ventilated outdoor area without overfilling. Any spilled fuel should be wiped up before starting the engine, and the Engine Owner's Manual should be consulted for the complete fueling procedure.

Connecting the garden hose to the pump inlet and the high-pressure hose to the pump outlet are crucial initial steps. The other end of the high-pressure hose then connects to the spray gun. The spray wand threads into the end of the spray gun, and quick-connect nozzles are inserted by pulling back the coupler, inserting the nozzle, and releasing the coupler to ensure it's secure. It's vital to turn the water faucet completely on and not run the unit without a connected and active water supply, using only cold water. Before starting, air must be released from the system by depressing the trigger until a steady stream of water is present, which typically takes about 30 seconds. The engine switch must be in the "ON" position, and the choke pin should be pulled out to the "CLOSED" position (often preset by the factory). To start the engine, the recoil starter grip is pulled. Once the engine starts, the choke pin is gradually moved to the "OPEN" position.

The pressure washer offers various spray patterns through its quick-connect nozzles, which are color-coded and stored in a holder on the panel assembly. The 0° red nozzle provides a powerful pinpoint spray for spot cleaning hard, unpainted surfaces or high-reach areas. The 15° yellow nozzle is for intense cleaning of unpainted hard surfaces like grills, driveways, concrete, or brick walkways. The 25° green nozzle offers intense cleaning for larger areas on metal, concrete, or wood. The 40° white nozzle is suitable for cleaning painted or delicate surfaces such as auto/RV, marine, wood, painted brick, stucco, and vinyl siding. A low-pressure black nozzle is used for applying cleaning solutions, safe on all surfaces, though compatibility with the cleaning solution should always be verified.

For applying chemicals or cleaning solvents, the detergent siphon hose is attached to a barbed fitting near the high-pressure hose connection of the pump, with the filter end placed into the chemical container. The low-pressure (black) nozzle must be installed on the spray wand for chemicals to siphon. After chemical application, the siphon hose should be placed in clean water to rinse the system thoroughly, as chemical residue can damage the pump.

Safety is paramount during operation. Users are warned about the risk of fluid injection and laceration from the high-pressure spray, emphasizing that it should not come into contact with unprotected skin, eyes, pets, or animals. Operating the engine indoors or in poorly ventilated areas is prohibited due to the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning. The unit should not be run for more than two minutes in Bypass Mode (when the gun trigger is not pulled) to prevent pump overheating and damage. The thermal relief valve will open to release water if the pump temperature rises too high.

Maintenance Features:

Routine maintenance is essential for efficient operation and a longer lifespan of the pressure washer. The engine's maintenance schedule, including oil checks and other procedures, should follow the manufacturer's recommendations in the Engine Owner's Manual. The pump on this unit is maintenance-free and does not require oil to be added or changed; any pump issues should be directed to customer service.

Connections on the pressure washer hoses, gun, and spray wand should be cleaned regularly and lubricated with light oil or lithium grease to prevent leaks and damage to the o-rings. Nozzle cleaning is crucial; if a nozzle becomes clogged, excessive pressure can develop, or the pump may pulsate. The nozzle cleaning tool provided in the nozzle kit should be used to clear obstructions and backflush with clean water. The water inlet filter screen should also be checked periodically, removed by grasping its end, cleaned by flushing with water on both sides, and re-inserted with the cone side facing out. The pressure washer should not be operated without this filter properly installed.

For storage, especially when storing for more than 30 days or in freezing temperatures, the manufacturer recommends using a pump protector/winterizer or RV antifreeze to provide proper lubrication to the internal seals of the pump. All water should be drained from the high-pressure hose, spray gun, and wand before storage. The detergent siphon hose should also be wrapped and secured to protect it from damage. The engine's storage recommendations should be followed as outlined in the Engine Owner's Manual. Before any maintenance or repair, the engine should be turned off, the spark plug wire disconnected, the engine allowed to cool, and all water pressure released to prevent burns, fire hazards, or serious injury.
