THE
FEED
Before
the
machine
leaves
the
factory,
feed
lifting
eccentric-and-
bevel-gear
and
feed
eccentric
are
set
for
average
sewing conditions,
by
having
timing
screw
in
each
eccentric
enter
groove
provided
for
them
in
arm
shaft.
As
the
grooves
in
the
arm
shaft
are
not
visible
to
the
adjuster,
machine
pulley
should
be
turned
over
toward
operator
until
feed
lifting
eccentric
connecting
rod

is
at
its
lowest
position.
Timing
screw

then
be
on
top
of
feed
lifting
eccentric-and-
bevel-gear.
Loosen
timing
screw

and
set
screw

and,
while
main-
taining
this

gear,
turn
arm
shaft

timing
screw,

felt
to
drop
into
its
groove

shaft.
