This document is an instruction manual for the SINGER SDHM-10L SMART OUT Dehumidifier. It provides information on the device's function, technical specifications, usage, and maintenance, with specific warnings regarding the R290 refrigerant.
Function Description
The SINGER SDHM-10L SMART OUT Dehumidifier is designed to remove excessive moisture from the air. By reducing relative humidity, it protects buildings and their contents from the adverse effects of high humidity. The device uses an environmentally friendly R290 refrigerant, which has no damaging influence on the ozone layer (ODP) and a negligible greenhouse effect (GWP).
The dehumidifier offers four operating modes:
- Ordinary Dehumidifying Mode: This is the default mode, operating at 55% RH. Both fan speed and humidity can be adjusted.
- Low Dehumidifying Mode: The unit operates with a low fan speed, and humidity cannot be changed.
- High Dehumidifying Mode: The unit operates with a high fan speed, and humidity cannot be changed. The environmental humidity is displayed.
- Continuous (Clothes Drying) Mode: This mode operates with a high fan speed for continuous clothes drying. Humidity cannot be changed, and environmental humidity is displayed.
The device also includes an AIR CLEAN mode for air filtration, where dehumidification does not operate, but the fan and timer are effective. A SLEEP MODE dims indications and automatically changes fan speed from high to low.

The device uses R290 refrigerant, which is flammable. Special precautions are necessary during use and maintenance. The appliance must be installed, operated, and stored in a room with a floor area larger than 4 m² and without continuously operating ignition sources.
Usage Features
- Control Panel: Features a POWER button, SETTING button for humidity adjustment (30%-80% in 5% increments), MODE button for selecting operating modes, FAN button for fan speed selection (low/high), TIMER button for setting off or on time (0-24h), CHILD LOCK button, AIR CLEAN button, and SLEEP MODE button.
- Ambient Humidity Indicator: A 3-color LED on the panel indicates ambient humidity: Blue (<50%), Green (50%-70%), Red (>70%).
- Timer Function: Allows setting a timed shutdown or startup from 1 to 24 hours. The timer light illuminates when active.
- Child Lock: Locks all control panel buttons when pressed and held for 3 seconds.
- Water Tank Indicator: A red light illuminates, and a buzzer sounds 20 times when the water tank is full, stopping the compressor automatically.
- Continuous Drainage: The dehumidifier has a continuous drainage hole for connecting a plastic tube, allowing for continuous water drainage without needing to empty the tank manually. The hose end should not be submerged in water.
- Auto Defrost Function: The unit automatically defrosts if the room temperature is ≤ 18°C. Defrosting cycles vary based on temperature:
- 18°C < temperature ≤ 23°C: Defrosts every 120 minutes.
- 12°C < temperature ≤ 18°C: Defrosts every 25 minutes.
- 5°C < temperature ≤ 12°C: Defrosts every 20 minutes.
During defrosting, dehumidification and air purification may pause.
Maintenance Features
- Before First Use: Place the unit in an upright position for at least 24 hours. Ensure air outlet and inlet are not blocked. Operate on a flat, horizontal surface.
- Water Tank: Do not remove the float in the water tank. Clean the water tank and its cover regularly with cool or warm water and a soft cloth to prevent mildew. Do not use cleaners, steel wool, chemical rag duster, gas oil, benzene, thinner, or other solvents. Ensure the water tank is correctly placed back into the machine for operation.
- Cleaning the Unit: Turn off and unplug the unit before cleaning. Use a moist cloth to clean the exterior; avoid detergents or abrasive sponges. Do not use hot water or chemical solvents.
- Internal Drying Function: If the unit will not be used for a long time, use this function to dry the interior and prevent mildew.
- Silver Ion Filter: This is a non-washable filter and should be cleaned using a vacuum cleaner.
- General Safety: Avoid installation behind a door. Do not operate with wet hands. Unplug when not in use or before servicing. Do not place near heat sources or flammable gases. Do not immerse in liquid. Do not modify the power cord or share outlets. Disconnect power if abnormal sounds, smells, or smoke occur. Do not place heavy objects on the power cord.
- Refrigerant Handling (R290): Only qualified personnel with valid certificates should work on the refrigerant circuit. Servicing must follow manufacturer recommendations. Maintenance involving flammable refrigerants requires supervision by competent personnel. Do not pierce or burn the refrigerant circuit. Ensure proper ventilation in storage and operation areas. Keep ventilation openings clear.
- Troubleshooting: A troubleshooting guide is provided for common issues like no power, water tank full, clogged air filter, obstructed ducts, loud noise, and slow drying.
The manual emphasizes the importance of reading all safety instructions carefully due to the flammability of the R290 refrigerant.
