  If the 'FUEL' warning is always on, the float on the petrol cock might be defective, or the cable could be damaged. Also, the petrol faucet may be incorrectly installed. When removed, lift the float on the fuel tap/fuel gauge; then, "FUEL" should switch off. If not, renew the fuel tap/fuel gauge. Check the wiring and replace it if necessary. If the wire connection is switched, the connectors must be plugged in and replaced.

  If the speed is not displayed correctly, it might be due to a wrong speed pulse setting or incorrect connection of the brown cable. In adjustment menu 4, set the correct number of signals from the ignition that the speedometer reads, depending on whether you have the original or Vespatronic ignition. The brown cable must always be connected to the lighting current 12V, not to the battery.

  If the speedometer has no function, it could be due to overvoltage or a missing ground connection. Check the voltage regulator and replace if necessary. Also, inspect the black box for any signs of damage (burned or smothered smell). Measure the voltage at the black box (red/black should be 5.0V +/- 0.5V DC, blue/black should be 5.2V +/- 0.5V). Ensure a proper ground connection from the ignition to the frame/voltage regulator to dissipate voltage peaks.
