What to do if the SIP SPEEDO-REVCOUNTER 2.0 Scooter speedometer shows 'FUEL' warning all the time?
    • L
      Lauren SandovalAug 19, 2025
If the 'FUEL' warning is always on, the float on the petrol cock might be defective, or the cable could be damaged. Also, the petrol faucet may be incorrectly installed. When removed, lift the float on the fuel tap/fuel gauge; then, "FUEL" should switch off. If not, renew the fuel tap/fuel gauge. Check the wiring and replace it if necessary. If the wire connection is switched, the connectors must be plugged in and replaced.

Why is my SIP SPEEDO-REVCOUNTER 2.0 speedometer not displaying the speed correctly?
    • S
      Scott Mathews Jr.Aug 21, 2025
If the speed is not displayed correctly, it might be due to a wrong speed pulse setting or incorrect connection of the brown cable. In adjustment menu 4, set the correct number of signals from the ignition that the speedometer reads, depending on whether you have the original or Vespatronic ignition. The brown cable must always be connected to the lighting current 12V, not to the battery.

What to do if my SIP SPEEDO-REVCOUNTER 2.0 Scooter speedometer is not working, with no self-test and the tachometer needle not moving?

If the speedometer has no function, it could be due to overvoltage or a missing ground connection. Check the voltage regulator and replace if necessary. Also, inspect the black box for any signs of damage (burned or smothered smell). Measure the voltage at the black box (red/black should be 5.0V +/- 0.5V DC, blue/black should be 5.2V +/- 0.5V). Ensure a proper ground connection from the ignition to the frame/voltage regulator to dissipate voltage peaks.

What to do if my SIP SPEEDO-REVCOUNTER 2.0 Scooter speed display seems incorrect?

      David FreemanAug 26, 2025
If your speed display is incorrect, check the tire circumference/ratio setting in adjustment menu 3. Also, verify the speed reduction setting in adjustment menu 2 ('INT = Tachowelle, EXT = external sensor'). Check the acceptance points on the vehicle, ensuring the sensor flashes at every point (01P = 1 acceptance point / 05P = 5 acceptance points). Decrease the distance between the speed sensor and the acceptance point if necessary; the distance should not be greater than 3mm.

What to do if my SIP SPEEDO-REVCOUNTER 2.0 Scooter speedometer keeps turning on and off?
    • M
      Melissa SullivanAug 27, 2025
If your speedometer keeps turning on and off, there may be a loose cable contact in the power supply (red, brown, black cable). Ensure the cable is not installed in the movement area of the gas/gear roll. Use a multimeter to measure the voltage across the live cables, which should be 12 volts. This issue can be caused by a wobble contact in the power supply, where gas roll/gear roll squeezes the supply cable and causes a short circuit, or due to too low ignition/generator power.

Why does the SIP SPEEDO-REVCOUNTER 2.0 Scooter analog display/speedometer not show the speed?
    • M
      Michael MooreAug 29, 2025
If the analog display does not show the speed, it is likely due to an incorrect setting of the analogue display. You should switch from analog RPM display to analog speed display in the adjustment menu 1.

What to do if the time in my SIP Scooter speedometer changes by itself?
    • C
      Charles LindseySep 3, 2025
If the time in the speedometer changes by itself, the battery of the clock may be empty. After a long period without usage, such as in winter, the internal battery can be discharged. The battery will recharge after a longer trip, and the display will appear again.

    • J
      johnsonangelSep 5, 2025

How to fix no digital and analogue speed display on SIP SPEEDO-REVCOUNTER 2.0 Scooter?
    • S
      Stacy WrightSep 7, 2025
If there is no digital and analogue speed display, the tachometer cable may be broken or loose, or the speedometer drive gear may be missing or defective. Fix the parts correctly and replace any defective parts. The speedometer may also be defective or damaged due to overvoltage and must be renewed. Poor or incorrectly designed ground connections could not dissipate voltage peaks.
