Overview

The SKANTI VHF 1100 DSC is a professional VHF radiotelephone with a built-in Digital Selective Calling (DSC) Class A unit, designed for merchant vessels, fishing ships, and other professional users. It integrates VHF and DSC functionalities into a single compact unit, making it suitable for vessels with limited space and ensuring simple, logical operation for GMDSS (Global Maritime Distress and Safety System) equipment.

Function Description:

The device serves as a comprehensive communication platform, offering both verbal VHF communication and digital DSC communication. It supports various call types, including distress, individual, group, all ships, and shore station calls, and allows for direct phone number dialing. The system is designed to constantly monitor channel 70 for incoming DSC calls, ensuring that distress and other important calls are received promptly.

Key Features:

  • Integrated VHF and DSC: Combines a professional duplex VHF radio with an advanced DSC Class A unit.
  • Ergonomic Control Unit (CU 1100): Features an easily legible graphic LCD display for all-time operation and a back-lit "easy-touch" keyboard for ease of use, even at night.
  • Built-in Loudspeaker: A 4-watt loudspeaker is integrated into the control unit.
  • Distress Button: A prominent DSC distress button is protected by a hatch to prevent unintentional activation.
  • Handset: An ergonomically correct handset is integrated for complete VHF/DSC communication.
  • Compact Transceiver Unit: The duplex VHF/DSC transceiver unit has an output power of 25 watts, capable of reaching VHF stations within 40-50 nautical miles.
  • SPARC-bus Interface: Enables remote control from handsets placed, for example, on bridge wings.
  • Multi-Control Unit Support: The VHF system can connect up to 7 control units, each with a unique location (1-7). Control units can become "master" to operate the transmitter.
  • Channel Modes: Supports International, US, and BI (European rivers) channel modes, with automatic ATIS activation in BI mode.
  • Scanning: Allows for scanning of channels using memory tables, with pre-programmed tables for intership communication and all channels. Priority scanning is also available, with channel 16 scanned once for every channel in the scan table.
  • Dual Watch: Monitors a selected channel and a priority channel (e.g., channel 16) simultaneously.
  • Intercom: Facilitates communication between two control units within the system.

Important Technical Specifications:
