2) Connect the three voltage leads to the EP1000
voltage terminal block corresponding to the
appropriate phase, marked Va, Vb and Vc, being
sure to use a flat bladed screwdriver to open the
clamp connectors on the terminal block and
connect a ground to the ground position of the
voltage plug. Additionally, the MCC ground
should be connected to the ground stud on the
EP1000 enclosure.
Troubleshooting:
MCC Sensor Error Verify all connections between
EP1000 and
EXP4000
Autophasing not
successful – or – V
– sequence does
not match I -
sequence
Verify correct voltage and current
hookup. Verify arrows on CT’s point
toward load.
EP1000 not
associated with a
Motor ID
Follow procedure “To associate an
EP1000 with a Motor ID.
Voltages and/or
currents are too
small
Check correct sensor ratios
Caution: Make sure that the voltage wiring for each
phase is completely captured by its corresponding phase
in the EP1000 voltage plug (i.e. no wire strands are
poking out)
3) Connect the MCC cable (the end opposite the
panel plug) to the A/D Bus DB25 receptacle of the
EP, and secure in place with the captive screws.
EP1000 ratings:
- Voltage terminal: 1,000 V AC, CAT III
4) Provide strain relief for all current and voltage
wiring, as well as the DB25 cabling at the EP1000
enclosure.
- Current terminal: use specified SKF current
transformers
- A/D bus connector: use specified umbilical
cable
Verification of Installation:
- Input power: 5VDC 105mA
1) Energize cabinet
- Connect only to EXP4000 or similar
2) Connect umbilical cable between EXP4000 and
EP1000 panel plug.
CT dimensions: see drawing at the end of this guide.
