LED indications and description (Printed on the back of handset)
1. Green flashing: Waiting for breath test, standby mode.
2. Green solid: Unblocking stage, allow starting vehicle.
3. Yellow flashing: Service required stage (permanent lockout after service warning days).
4. Yellow solid: Permanently lock out vehicle.
5. Red flashing: Short blocking stage, wait 5 minutes for retest.
6. Red solid: Longer time blocking stage, wait 30 minutes for retest.
7. Green flashing & Red flashing: Retest requested. (Do not turn off vehicle in this stage).
8. Yellow solid & Green flashing: Override mode after entering code (still needs breath test).
9. Yellow solid & Green solid: Override mode with unblocking stage after breath test.
10. Yellow solid & Red solid: Override mode expired permanent lockout.
Specific instructions
Random Retest: Breath test after the vehicle motor has been started.
- The green and red lights of handheld device will flash together and beep indicating test required.
- The driver must carry out this test within 6 minutes.
- The device will beep every 60 seconds to remind driver to take the test.
- Driver must pull over to a safe location to take random retest.
Free restart: When engine stops, the device permits the engine to be restarted without the requirement to provide
another breath sample. The device is setup for free restart for up to 3 minutes.
Do not disconnect the handheld tester. Violation event will be recorded in memory.
Bypass detection: Starting the vehicle without a test or without engaging the override function. Violation.
Tampering detection: Unauthorized changes or interference with the alcohol interlock or its installation in the vehicle or
its functioning will be recorded in memory as a violation and will be reported to the authorities.
