CONNECT THE RESCUE PARACHUTE WITH THE HARNESS
AND THE RESCUE HANDLE
The reserve parachute consists of the parachute itself, the red rescue handle, the V-
shaped bridle and the bottom container. The rescue handle on the bottom container is
part of the RANGE X-ALPS harness.
CAUTION
THIS IS THE ONLY RESCUE HANDLE THAT MAY BE USED.
Connect the rescue parachute to the V-bridle
using a shackle with at least 2400 daN me-
chanical strength, such as a Maillon Rapide
6mm screw shackle. Secure the connecting
lines on both sides of the shackle with rubber
rings. The use of webbed straps is not recom-
mended because they can slip if the attach-
ment is asymmetric and could tear due to the
high heat of friction during a rescue deploy-
ment.
Next, connect the reserve handle of the RANGE X-ALPS to the attachment loop of the re-
serve container. Choose the position of the loop so that the line is longer than the end of
the rescue splint to prevent it from blocking the rescue deployment.
Now place the rescue parachute with the connecting line to the handle facing up in the
tube container of the RANGE X-ALPS and lay the V-shaped bridle next to it without twisting.
Feed the V-shaped bridle through the side conduit to the carabiners and position
the rescue handle on the Velcro, then close the conduit.
