  • Surfacing Materials: Recommended to be placed on shock-absorbing surfaces such as shredded bark mulch, wood chips, fine sand, or fine gravel at a sufficient depth. Not to be installed over concrete, asphalt, packed earth, grass, carpet, or any other hard surface.

Usage Features:

  • Adult Supervision: On-site adult supervision is required for children of all ages at all times.
  • Safe Play Practices:
    • Children should not walk close to, in front of, behind, or between moving items.
    • Children should keep a safe distance to avoid being struck by items in play.
    • Children should not twist swing chains or ropes or loop them over the top support bar to prevent reducing chain strength.
    • Children should avoid swinging empty seats.
    • Children should sit in the center of the swings with their full weight on the seats; standing or leaning to the side is not permitted.
    • Children should not get off equipment while it is in motion or jump from moving play items.
    • Children should not use the equipment in any manner other than intended.
    • Children should always grasp the Jungle Gym frame rails while playing and climbing.
    • Children should remove bike or other sports helmets before playing.
    • Children should step on and off the Jungle Gym Station, not jump.
  • Clothing Guidelines: Children should wear well-fitting and full-foot enclosing footwear. Loose-fitting clothing, hood and neck drawstrings, scarves, cord-connected items, capes, and ponchos are prohibited due to strangulation risk.
  • Environmental Conditions: Do not allow children to play on equipment when it is wet to prevent slips or falls.
  • Attachments: Do not attach items not specifically designed for use with the equipment (e.g., jump ropes, clothesline, pet leashes, cables, chains) as they may cause a strangulation hazard.
  • Surface Requirements: The swing set must be placed on a level surface. Shock-absorbing surfacing materials are recommended, with specific depth requirements based on the fall height. Loose-fill materials like wood mulch, engineered wood fiber, shredded rubber mulch, sand, or pea gravel are suggested. Poured-in-place surfaces or pre-manufactured rubber tiles are also options, but require professional installation and adherence to ASTM F1292 standards.
  • Anchoring: The product should be anchored to the ground to prevent tipping, overturning, or lifting. Anchoring devices are sold separately and must be placed below the playing surface to prevent tripping.

The manual outlines a comprehensive maintenance schedule to ensure the longevity and safety of the swing set:
