Overview

This document is the User's Manual for the Skywalker Trampolines Model SWTCS1400, a recreational trampoline with an enclosure system. The manual provides comprehensive instructions for assembly, safe use, care, and maintenance of the equipment, emphasizing accident prevention and proper technique.

Function Description:

The Skywalker Trampolines Model SWTCS1400 is designed to provide a safe and enjoyable recreational bouncing experience for users. It features a trampoline mat for jumping and an integrated enclosure system to prevent users from falling off the trampoline. The enclosure is specifically designed for the size of the trampoline it accompanies. The system aims to promote physical activity and fitness in a controlled environment. The manual stresses that the trampoline should only be used with mature, knowledgeable supervision and that only one person should be on the trampoline at a time to minimize the risk of injury. It also includes instructional programs and model lessons to teach fundamental bounces and body positions, promoting a gradual progression of skills with an emphasis on control over height.

  • Adult Supervision: Constant adult supervision is mandatory, especially for young children.
  • Single Jumper Rule: Only one person is allowed inside the trampoline enclosure at a time to prevent collisions and injuries.
  • Controlled Entry/Exit: Users must climb onto and off the trampoline; jumping on or off is prohibited. The enclosure has a designated door for entry and exit.
  • Zipper Clip for Security: A zipper clip is provided to secure the enclosure net opening, preventing unsupervised use by children and keeping the zipper closed during use. It attaches to a D-ring on the jump mat and horizontal clips on the enclosure netting.
  • Braking Technique: Users are taught to stop bouncing by flexing their knees upon landing, a fundamental skill to prevent loss of control.
  • Skill Progression: The manual outlines a structured instructional program, starting with fundamental bounces (e.g., Fundamental Bounce, Knee Drop, Hand and Knee Drop, Back Drop, Seat Drop, Front Drop, Half Turntable, Swivel Hips) before attempting advanced skills.
  • Clothing Guidelines: Users should wear clothing free of drawstrings, hooks, or loops that could cause entanglement. Jewelry should be removed. Loose-fitting protective clothes are suggested for beginners to prevent mat burns. Hard-sole shoes are prohibited.
  • Environmental Conditions: The trampoline should only be used when the mat surface is dry and in calm weather conditions. Use in gusty or severe winds is prohibited.
  • No Somersaults/Flips: Somersaults or flips are strictly forbidden due to the high risk of serious head or neck injury, paralysis, or death.
  • No Objects on Trampoline: Users should not jump while holding sharp or breakable objects.
  • No Alcohol/Drugs: Use of the trampoline under the influence of alcohol or drugs is prohibited.
  • Securing Against Unauthorized Use: The trampoline and enclosure should be secured against unauthorized and unsupervised use, for example, by removing a ladder if one is used.

Maintenance Features:

  • Regular Inspection: The trampoline and enclosure must be inspected before each use. This includes checking the frame, padding, netting, enclosure tubes, foam sleeves, springs, and jump mat for correct positioning, wear, defects, or missing parts.
  • Part Replacement: Any worn, defective, or missing parts (e.g., torn mat, bent frame, broken spring, missing frame pad, holes in netting) must be replaced immediately.
  • Frame Pad Importance: The frame pad (13) must always be securely in place to cover the frame and springs, reducing the risk of injury from contact with these parts. It is not designed to support user weight.
  • Wind Damage Prevention: In anticipation of high winds, the enclosure netting should be taken down, and the trampoline frame should be tied down to the ground with ropes and stakes (not included). The only sure method to protect against wind damage is complete disassembly and indoor storage. Wind damage is not covered by the warranty.
  • Winter Storage: During winter months, soft materials (springs, jump mat, spring pad, enclosure) should be removed and stored in a dry place to prevent damage and voiding of the warranty.
  • Cleaning: The jump mat should be clean and dry before use.
  • Ordering Replacement Parts: Replacement parts can be ordered via the Skywalker Trampolines website or toll-free Customer Care Hot Line, requiring the model number, key number, part description, quantity, and desired shipping method.
  • Warranty: The steel frame is warranted for one year, and all other parts for ninety days from the date of purchase. The warranty does not cover wind or weather damage, freight damage, abuse, misuse, improper usage, or commercial/rental use.
