The SMARTBett® is a vertical wall bed designed for comfort, with a height of 160 cm. This assembly manual, available in both German (DE) and English (EN), provides comprehensive instructions for setting up and maintaining the bed.
Function Description:
The SMARTBett® is a space-saving furniture solution that transforms from a cabinet into a bed. It features a folding mechanism that allows the bed frame to be stored vertically when not in use, making it ideal for smaller living spaces or multi-functional rooms. The bed is designed to be securely mounted to a wall for stability and safe operation. The assembly process involves constructing the main body (Korpus), followed by the front panel and slatted frame (Front und Lattenrost). Gas springs are integrated into the design to assist with the smooth and effortless opening and closing of the bed.

A minimum ceiling height of 230 cm is required for the bed to be set up.
Usage Features:
- Intended Use: The furniture should be used for its intended purpose in dry, closed rooms, protected from adverse weather and direct sunlight.
- Placement: Maintain a distance of at least half a meter from active radiators. The floor where the furniture stands must be level and stable.
- Stability: The bed must be permanently attached to the wall to prevent tipping. The type and strength of the wall should be checked, and appropriate screws and dowels used. The person carrying out the installation is responsible for the attachment to the masonry.
- Operation: The bed can only be opened after the gas springs are attached and it is securely mounted to the wall. The front panel should not be unfolded more than 90 degrees. It is crucial not to step on the inside of the front panel when the slatted frame is not installed. The function for preparing the sleep position should not be exercised by a child.
- Assembly Sequence: It is critical to follow the assembly instructions in the specified order. For certain steps, such as attaching the folding mechanisms and gas springs, at least three people are required. Two people should hold the front part, while the third person attaches the mechanisms.
Maintenance Features:
- General Cleaning: For dusting, use a soft, dry duster. For more thorough cleaning, wipe surfaces with a damp cloth and then dry them.
- Metal and Glass Parts: Use commercially available metal polish or glass cleaner, then wipe metal parts with a dry duster and glass parts with a paper towel.
- Avoid Harsh Cleaners: Never use harsh scrubbing cleaners, detergents, or solvents. Only use known, furniture-specific soft agents.
- High-Gloss Surfaces:
- High-gloss surfaces come with a protective foil. Leave this foil on until the furniture is fully assembled and all dust has been removed.
- After removing the protective foil, allow the high-gloss surface to harden for 12 hours in room air.
- Clean high-gloss surfaces with only a damp cotton cloth and a small amount of glass cleaner.
- Do not use aggressive cleaners with additives.
- Avoid rubbing surfaces with a wet rag or using a steam cleaner.
- Do not damage the surface with sharp objects.
- Do not expose high-gloss surfaces to intense sunlight.
Important Notes for Assembly and Warranty:
- Before assembly, familiarize yourself with the entire manual and check all screws (refer to page 6).
- During assembly, place elements on a soft, clean surface (e.g., a towel or blanket) to prevent scratches. Avoid assembling on carpets.
- When inserting "C" pegs (8x30 mm), ensure they do not protrude more than 10 mm from the holes to prevent damage to the side panels.
- Insert "P" pegs (8x20 mm) by hand only for Part Nr.6. Do not use a hammer for "P" pegs.
- Remove the front protective film by hand; do not use tools.
- In case of a complaint, provide the part number/letter from the assembly instructions. If damage or scratches are found before assembly, provide photographic evidence. Do not assemble any parts showing faults or damage.
- Warranty claims are only valid if the defect is present before assembly and the furniture part is photographed in a disassembled state. Claims made after assembly or without proper photographic evidence may be rejected.
- The manufacturer reserves the right to make technical changes and updates to the assembly instructions as products are subject to continuous improvement. The quantity of supplied parts may sometimes differ from the amount shown in the manual; in such cases, contact the seller.
- SMARTBett is not responsible for damages resulting from improper assembly, use of unsuitable fastening materials, mounting on unsuitable surfaces, non-observance of the assembly manual, or unintended use of the product.
