How to troubleshoot pump and drive motors not operating in SmartPool PT4i?
    • B
      Bonnie TorresAug 8, 2025
If the pump and drive motors of your SmartPool Swimming Pool Vacuum are not operating, check the AC outlet and reset the GFI, or try another outlet. If that doesn't work, turn the power supply off, unplug it from the AC outlet, wait 30 seconds, and then turn it back on. As a last resort, try plugging the power supply directly into an outlet, removing any extension cords.

How to prevent cord tangling on my SmartPool PT4i?
    • C
      charlenewilliamsAug 13, 2025
To prevent cord tangling with your SmartPool Swimming Pool Vacuum, ensure the cable is unplugged from the power supply after every one to two cleaning cycles. This releases tension that builds up during operation. Use only the necessary amount of cable to efficiently cover your pool. Before each use, straighten the cable, and when wrapping it for storage, make large loops starting at the cleaner end to allow the plug end to unwind any remaining tension.

      Anita RomeroAug 17, 2025
If your SmartPool Swimming Pool Vacuum is not moving, check for debris caught in the tracks, brushes, or impeller; clean with a garden hose and remove the impeller cap if needed. Also, ensure the cleaner isn't caught on any obstructions in the pool. Turn the cleaner off and gently pull the cord to free it. Verify the filter bag is properly installed, or run the cleaner without the filter bag to check the bottom lid. Finally, check if the tracks have fallen off or are loose.

Second, clean the filter bag thoroughly with a garden hose, because the filter bag might be full. Finally, inspect the fan/impeller for any debris and clean it with a garden hose, removing the impeller cap if necessary.

Why does my SmartPool Swimming Pool Vacuum keep starting and stopping?
    • M
      Margaret MooreAug 26, 2025
If your SmartPool Swimming Pool Vacuum starts and stops, ensure the filter bag is correctly installed by running the cleaner without it and checking the bottom lid. Clean the filter bag thoroughly with a garden hose, as a full bag can cause this issue. Check for and remove any debris caught in the tracks, brushes, or impeller, potentially removing the impeller cap. Inspect the brushes for wear and replace if needed. Also, check if the cleaner is caught on anything in the pool, turning it off and gently pulling the cord to remove any obstruction.

Then, check for any debris caught in the tracks, brushes, or impeller, cleaning with a garden hose and removing the impeller cap if necessary. Also, check if the cleaner is caught on any obstructions; turn it off and gently pull the cord to remove it. Finally, inspect the tracks to see if they are loose or have fallen off.

What to do if my SmartPool PT4i is floating or climbing too much?
    • C
      Catherine GarzaSep 3, 2025
If your SmartPool Swimming Pool Vacuum is floating or climbing excessively, rock the cleaner back and forth underwater to release any trapped air in the filter bag. If it climbs too high regularly, consider adding a weight to prevent excessive climbing and aid descent. Also, if D.E. is present in the pool, it could clog the bag; clean the bag thoroughly.
