This document describes a Smeg dishwasher, providing user instructions, program tables, and troubleshooting information.
Function Description
The Smeg dishwasher is designed to clean dishes, cutlery, pots, and pans efficiently. It features a control panel for program selection and option activation, an information display, and various wash cycles tailored for different types of loads and soil levels. The appliance incorporates an autodiagnosis system to detect and indicate malfunctions.
Important Technical Specifications
The manual provides consumption data for various programs, including water usage (liters) and power consumption (kWh) for both hot (60°C) and cold (15°C) water. Program durations are also listed, varying based on power settings (5.45 kW - P3, 3.5 kW - P2, 2.0 kW - P1).
Program Consumption Examples:
- SOAK: 3.9 liters water, 0.02 kWh (hot/cold H2O). Duration: 15 minutes across all power settings.
- CRYSTAL (45°C): 14 liters water, 0.50/(2) kWh hot H2O, 0.9/(2) kWh cold H2O. Durations range from 99' (2)/45' to 125' (2)/75' depending on power.
- AUTO (45°-65°C): Water and energy consumption are automatically adjusted based on dirt type.
- ECO (48°C): 10.5 liters water, 0.50/(2) kWh hot H2O, 0.75/(2) kWh cold H2O. Durations range from 246 (2)/152 to 265 (2)/185 depending on power. This is the standard program according to EN60436.
- HYGIENE 99,9% (75°C): 17.7 liters water, 1.30 kWh hot H2O, 1.80 kWh cold H2O. Durations range from 90' to 140' depending on power.
- PRO GLASSES (50°C): 11.4 liters water, 0.82 kWh hot H2O, 1.32 kWh cold H2O. Durations range from 20' to 55' depending on power.
- ULTRA RAPID (65°C): 11.8 liters water, 0.88 kWh hot H2O, 1.38 kWh cold H2O. Durations range from 14' to 55' depending on power.
- MIX (65°C): 11.8 liters water, 0.98 kWh hot H2O, 1.48 kWh cold H2O. Durations range from 22' to 60' depending on power.
- FULL EXPRESS 60 min (65°C): 10.4 liters water, 0.86 kWh hot H2O, 1.36 kWh cold H2O. Durations range from 55' to 75' depending on power.
- PRO-INTENSIVE (70°C): 15.6 liters water, 1.17 kWh hot H2O, 1.67 kWh cold H2O. Durations range from 40' to 80' depending on power.
- SELF CLEAN (70°C): 13.8 liters water, 1.08 kWh hot H2O, 1.58 kWh cold H2O.
Usage Features
Control Panel:
The control panel is located on the front of the dishwasher and includes:
- ON/OFF Button and Warning Light: Powers the dishwasher on/off.
- Option Selection Buttons and Warning Lights: For selecting additional wash options.
- "CHILD LOCK" Activation Buttons: To prevent accidental program changes.
- START/PAUSE Button: To start, pause, or interrupt a wash cycle.
- Program Selection Buttons: To choose a specific wash program.
- Information Display: Shows program duration, alarms, and current status.
- Handle to Open the Door: For accessing the dishwasher interior.
Programming:
- All programming operations are performed with the door closed.
- The display shows "--:--" when the door is open.
- Program selection is made via dedicated buttons, with a pilot light confirming the selection and the display showing a forecast duration ("h.mm").
- To start a program, press the START/PAUSE button until it flashes and a "beep" is heard. The cycle duration on the display will then decrease.
- Program progress is indicated by flashing program phase warning lights (Prewash, Wash, Rinse, Drying).
Program Interruption and Change:
- To interrupt, press START/PAUSE until the LED remains lit. The cycle can then be restarted or changed.
- To change a running program, interrupt it, select the new program, and press START/PAUSE again.
- To stop a program, interrupt it, then press and hold START/PAUSE until "P0" appears. The dishwasher will drain and display "End."
Automatic Door Opening – Dry Assist (DRY+):
- This feature activates automatically for compatible programs, allowing the door to open slightly during the drying cycle to assist drying and save energy.
- It can be deactivated by pressing its button.
- The program ends only when indicated by a visual and/or audible signal.
- Important: Ensure sufficient space for the door to open. Do not force the door open/closed before the cycle ends.
Options Table:
- PROFESSIONAL: Creates professional programs, indicated by a blue light.
- DRY ASSIST (DRY+): Allows perfect drying at low rinse temperatures with energy savings. Activates automatically if compatible, can be disabled.
- ½ LOAD FLEXY ZONE: Ideal for small loads, saving energy and shortening the cycle.
- DELAY: Delays wash cycles by 1, 3, 9, 12, or 24 hours depending on the model.
- SELF CLEAN: Dishwasher cleaning cycle, to be run empty.
Adding Salt:
- Unscrew the cap of the salt container.
- For the first time, fill with 1 liter of water.
- Pour approximately 1 kg of regeneration salt using the provided funnel.
- Remove any salt residues and screw the cap back on.
- Run a wash cycle after adding salt to remove excess.
Adding Rinse Aid:
- Open the dispenser by pressing and lifting the tab on the cover.
- Refill when the rinse aid indicator light turns on.
- Close the cover until it clicks.
- Wipe away any spillage to prevent foam.
Adding Detergent:
- Open the detergent dispenser cover by lightly pressing button P.
- Add detergent or a tablet.
- Close the cover by sliding it until it clicks.
Maintenance Features
Cleaning the Water Intake Filter:
- Close the water supply tap.
- Unscrew the end of the water intake hose.
- Remove filter A and clean it under running water.
- Reinsert filter A and screw the hose back on.
Cleaning the Spray Arms:
- Remove spray arms and wash them with a jet of water, ensuring free rotation upon reinstallation.
- Upper Spray Arm: Unscrew locking ring R.
- Lower Spray Arm: Lift it up by the central part.
- Orbital Spray Arm Assembly: Hold the longer arm and pull the orbital unit upward.
- Planetarium Sprayer: Follow provided instructions for removal and cleaning.
Cleaning the Filter Unit:
- Remove the planetarium spray arm (if fitted).
- Grip the tabs, turn anticlockwise, and lift upwards.
- Push the central filter D from underneath to remove it from the micro-filter.
- Separate the two parts of the plastic filter by pressing the body of the filter in the indicated zone.
Troubleshooting (Autodiagnosis System):
The dishwasher detects and indicates malfunctions with specific error codes:
- E 01: Anti-flooding system tripped.
- E 02: Water level limiting system tripped.
- E 03: Unable to heat water.
- E 04: Temperature sensor disconnected.
- E 05: Unable to fill with water.
- E 06: Unable to pump out water.
- E 07: Unable to measure water amount accurately.
- E 08: Anomaly in water distribution system to baskets.
- E 09: Water intake system malfunction.
- E 11: Washing pump failure.
For E1 and E11, contact technical assistance. For E7, the cycle completes despite the alarm. For other alarms, stop the program, switch off, then restart the dishwasher and a new wash cycle. If the malfunction persists, contact an authorized Service Centre with the fault code.
