What causes a Sno-Way 22 Series to not apply down pressure when the switch is on?

If your Sno-Way Snow Blower won't apply down pressure even with the Down Pressure switch ON, several issues could be the cause. The lower valve (B) might be sticking or stuck; remove it and swap it with the (E) valve. If down pressure then engages, the (B) valve needs cleaning or replacement. The down pressure switch itself could be inoperative; remove the yellow and brown wires from the pressure switch and check for continuity across the two prongs. If there's no continuity, replace the switch. The down pressure relief valve setting might be too low, causing the motor to cycle rapidly or run constantly.
