What causes a Sno-Way 22 Series to not apply down pressure when the switch is on?

  If your Sno-Way Snow Blower won't apply down pressure even with the Down Pressure switch ON, several issues could be the cause. The lower valve (B) might be sticking or stuck; remove it and swap it with the (E) valve. If down pressure then engages, the (B) valve needs cleaning or replacement. The down pressure switch itself could be inoperative; remove the yellow and brown wires from the pressure switch and check for continuity across the two prongs. If there's no continuity, replace the switch. The down pressure relief valve setting might be too low, causing the motor to cycle rapidly or run constantly.   If the motor of your Sno-Way Snow Blower runs but the blade won't angle, start by checking the hydraulic fluid level and fill it to the fill line with Sno-Way hydraulic fluid. Next, examine the wiring harness for any severed connections or bad grounds at the angle coils (A or D). If a ground is present when operated from the red (A) or green (D) wire one of the coils may be weak. Swap the coil with another coil on the valve block. If the problem moves to a different function replace coil. Alternatively, the angle coil (A or D) itself might be inoperative; check if the red (A) or green (D) wire has a ground signal, and if the coil isn't magnetized, replace it.   If your Sno-Way Snow Blower unit will not lower by gravity with the down pressure off, start by checking the breather cap for any blockage and replace if needed. Inspect the wiring harness for severed connections that may be causing low or no voltage at the lower coil (B). If a ground is present when operated the blue with the white trace wire the coil may be weak. Swap coil with another coil on the valve block. If the problem moves to a different function replace coil. The lower valve (B) might be sticking or stuck; swap it out with the (E) valve, and if the plow lowers, clean or replace the (B) valve.
