This document describes the Soleus Air LX-140/LX-140BL R-410A Portable Air Conditioner with Heat Pump, offering detailed operating instructions, technical specifications, and maintenance guidelines.
Function Description
The Soleus Air LX-140/LX-140BL is a versatile portable air conditioner and heat pump designed to provide comfort in various environments. It functions as an air conditioner, heater, dehumidifier, and fan, making it suitable for year-round use. In air conditioning and dehumidifier modes, the unit draws in fresh outdoor air and exhausts hot air. In heat mode, it exhausts cool air. When operating in fan mode, no outdoor air exchange takes place, and the venting kit is not required. The unit is equipped with WAVEFLO® technology, which enables the louvers to oscillate back and forth and up and down, spreading air throughout the room more effectively. For quick spot cooling, a single hose window kit installation is available, while a dual hose setup is recommended for efficiently cooling larger areas. The unit features an LCDI (Leakage Current Detection and Interruption) power cord and plug, a safety feature designed to reduce the risk of fire by disconnecting the power source if current leakage is detected.

Usage Features
The unit can be operated via a control panel on the unit itself or a remote control.
- Power On and Off: Press the POWER button on the control panel or remote control.
- Mode Selection: Cycle through Auto, Air Conditioner, Dehumidifier, Fan only, and Heater modes using the MODE button.
- Fan Speed Control: Select High, Medium, Low, or Auto fan speeds using the FAN SPEED button. Auto speed is available in heating and cooling modes.
- Temperature Setting: Adjust desired room temperature (61°F - 88°F or 16°C - 31°C) in cooling or heating modes using the up/down arrow keys. The °F/°C button on the control panel allows switching between Fahrenheit and Celsius.
- Timer Function: Program the unit to automatically turn on (TIMER ON) or turn off (TIMER OFF) at a desired time. The timer remembers previous settings for mode, temperature, fan speed, and oscillation.
- Sleep Mode: (Remote control only) Available in Air Conditioner and Heating modes. In AC mode, temperature gradually increases by 2°F over 6 hours. In Heating mode, temperature gradually decreases by 2°F over 6 hours. Fan runs on low speed.
- Swing Function (WAVEFLO® oscillation): (Remote control only) Activates louvers to oscillate for wider air distribution.
- Compressor Indicator: An icon on the control panel indicates when the compressor is running.
- LCDI Power Cord: Features TEST and RESET buttons to ensure proper functioning of the leakage current detection and interruption mechanism. Users are advised not to use these buttons as ON/OFF switches.
Installation:
The unit requires proper installation of exhaust hoses and a window kit for air conditioning, heating, and dehumidifying modes.
- Exhaust Hoses: Two exhaust hoses are supplied. Hose adapters and window kit adapters screw onto the ends of the hoses.
- Window Kit: The kit includes sliding panels designed to fit most vertical and horizontal window openings or sliding doors up to 8 ft. long. It can be configured for dual hose (recommended for efficiency) or single hose (for quick spot cooling) operation.
- Placement: Choose a suitable location near a grounded electrical outlet and a window or door. Keep exhaust hoses as short and straight as possible.
Maintenance Features
- Filter Cleaning/Replacement: The air filter should be cleaned every two weeks or as needed. Remove the filter from the compartment, wash it with warm water and neutral detergent, rinse, and dry thoroughly out of sunlight. Replace torn or unusable filters.
- Unit Housing Cleaning: Keep the unit away from direct sunlight to prevent color fading. Clean the surface with a damp cloth and dry with a soft towel.
- Emergency Condensate Holding Tank: The unit has an internal condensate tank that holds approximately 1.5 liters of water. When full, the unit automatically shuts off, and an indicator appears on the display. To drain, unscrew the screw plug at the bottom back of the unit and allow water to drain into a pan.
- Storing the Unit: Before storing for an extended period or transporting, empty any excess water from the drain plug, unplug the unit, and store it in a cool, dry place.
Safety Precautions:
- Always place the unit on a level surface.
- Maintain at least 10 inches (25 cm) clearance around the unit.
- Do not block air inlet or outlet grilles.
- Connect to a correctly grounded power supply.
- Do not use adapter plugs or extension cords.
- Do not use near baths, showers, or swimming pools.
