ST-Control - Operation
Temperature difference control with automatic function check
The ST-Control is a temperature difference control with au-
tomatic plausibility check. Using the integrated Schuko
plug
(also called type F or CEE 7/4), the control is connected
quickly and without wiring work. It is simply plugged into
the socket.
General
Function
Scope of delivery
The ST-Control compares the temperature of the collector
with that of the SolvisTherm hot water storage tank. The
control switches on when a temperature difference
(“Diff.”), which can be adjusted, plus a temperature-depen-
dent hysteresis is exceeded. If the temperature goes be-
low the target value “Diff.” is exceeded or if the storage
tank sensor reaches the storage tank maximum value
(“Max.”), the solar pump is switched off.
The difference (“Diff.”) is the value by which the collector
must be hotter than the storage tank for the solar pump
to operate (recommendation 5 - 10 K).
The storage tank maximum value (“Max.”) limits the stora-
ge tank temperature to prevent calcification, damage to
the storage tank coating, scalding, etc. (recommendation
60 - 90 °C). The solar pump switches back on when the
temperature goes below the set value minus the hyste-
resis.
