Powering On the SOHO Appliance

Connect Power Adapter

Connect the power adapter and cable, then plug into an outlet to power on the device.

Power On Caution

Use only the included power adapter; do not use a damaged or different adapter.

Connecting Interfaces

Connect WAN Interface

Connect the WAN interface (X1) to your Internet connection using an Ethernet cable.

Connect LAN Interface

Connect the LAN interface (X0) to your computer using an Ethernet cable.

Running the Setup Wizard

Access Setup Wizard

Navigate to https://192.168.168.168 in your web browser and click the setup wizard link.

Enter Administrator Credentials

Log in with default credentials (admin/password) and change the password if desired.

Configure Network Settings

Follow the prompts to configure Time Zone, WAN/LAN settings, DHCP, and port assignments.

Registering the Product

Access Appliance IP Address

Point browser to the appliance LAN IP address (default https://192.168.168.168) and log in.

Create MySonicWall Account

Create a MySonicWall account or log in to register the appliance and manage services.

Manual Registration Information

Note serial number and authentication code for manual registration on the SonicWall website.

Getting the Latest Firmware

Download Firmware

Navigate to mysonicwall.com, select SOHO Firmware, and download the desired file.

Upload Firmware to Appliance

On the appliance, go to System > Settings, click Upload New Firmware, browse, and select the file.

Apply New Firmware

After upload, click the Boot icon for the new firmware in the Firmware Management Table.

Mounting the SOHO Appliance

Wall Mounting Instructions

Drill holes, insert anchors if needed, use screws leaving 5/32 inches exposed, and slide appliance on.

Mounting Screw Types

Specifies screw types and wall anchors for mounting on drywall or solid wood/metal.

Safety and Regulatory Information

Installation Environment

Install away from sunlight, heat, and sources of noise; ensure proper airflow and cable routing.

Lithium Battery Warning

The lithium battery is not user-replaceable; return appliance to an authorized service center.

Cable Connection Limitations

Ethernet and RS232 cables are for intra-building use only; do not connect to external wiring.

Power Supply Requirements

Use only a UL listed power supply (I.T.E. LPS) with 12V DC, min 2.0A, Tma min 40°C.
