Why do certain programs on DVD or other digital sources display a loss of detail on my Sony BRAVIA KDL-46V25L1?
    • C
      Christopher BoydSep 18, 2025
The compression used by certain digital broadcasts and DVDs may cause your Sony LCD TV’s screen to display less detail than usual, or cause artifacts (small blocks or dots, pixelations) to appear on your screen. This is normal for certain digitally recorded programs due to your TV’s large screen and ability to show very fine detail.

Why are some digital cable channels not being displayed on my Sony BRAVIA KDL-46V25L1?
    • P
      philip38Sep 16, 2025
If some digital cable channels are not being displayed on your Sony LCD TV, it may be due to limitations on the broadcast of digital cable channels by certain cable companies. Check with your cable company for more information. Also, the digital cable channel may be set to Hidden in the Show/Hide Channels setting.

Why does my Sony BRAVIA KDL-46V25L1 show black bands at the top and bottom of the screen?
    • L
      Laura SawyerSep 14, 2025
If you are seeing black bands at the top and bottom of the screen on your Sony LCD TV, it's because some wide-screen programs are filmed in aspect ratios greater than 16:9, which is common with theatrical releases. Your TV will display these programs with black bands. Refer to the documentation that came with your DVD or contact your program provider for more details.

Why does Wide Mode change automatically on my Sony BRAVIA KDL-46V25L1?
    • T
      Thomas DavisSep 12, 2025
If the Wide Mode on your Sony LCD TV changes automatically, it is because the current Wide Mode setting is automatically replaced with the 4:3 Default setting when you change the channel or video input, if 4:3 Default in the Screen settings is set to other than Off. To lock in the Wide Mode selected with the WIDE button, set 4:3 Default to Off in the Screen settings. Also, check the Auto Wide option in the Screen settings.
