Slant
compensation
Slant
compensation
is
a
function
for
the
head
to
trace
slant
of
tracks.
As
shown
in
Fig.
2-2,
for
example,
angle
of
recording
track
to
drum
head
appears
to
change
as
tape
speed
is
varied.
This
prevents
the
correct
tracking
of
the
recorded
track.
Thus
this
compensation
is
designed
to
alter
the
angle
of
the
head
according
to
tape
speed
-and
so
ensure
correct
tracing.
