Using the CD display
Checking the remaining time
Press TIME on the remote repeatedly
during play.
The display changes as follows:
Elapsed playing time on the current track t
Remaining time on the current track*

Remaining time on the current CD*

Elapsed playing time on the current track t

“--.--” appears when you check the remaining time
of a CD track whose number is 21 or over.

“--.--” appears during Shuffle Play of a CD which
has 21 or more tracks, or during Program Play
when a CD track whose number is 21 or over is
selected.
Checking the total playing
time
Press TIME on the remote in stop mode.
Checking the track title or a
disc title
Press DISPLAY on the remote during play
or in stop mode.
The display changes as follows:

t Playing time of the CD*

After 8 seconds, the playing time of the CD
appears.

The display that appears depends on the current
disc status:
If the disc is stopped: The total playing time of the
CD is displayed.
If the disc is playing: The elapsed playing time of
the track, remaining playing time of the track, or
remaining playing time of the CD is displayed.

The track title appears when the disc is playing
(only for CDs with CD text), and the disc title
appears when the disc is stopped. If a CD that has
no title, the track title or disc title is skipped.
To scroll a long name
Press SCROLL on the remote.
The title appears scrolling in the display.
Tips
If you press TIME on the remote in stop mode for a
CD with CD text containing the artist name, the
artist name appears scrolling in the display.
To label a disc title to a CD, see “Labeling a CD”
on page 13.
