J-1/J-2
Compact Player
Compact Players for your desk!
The design concept of the J series of Compact Players was for affordable, compact office
viewers for producers, journalists and production staff. The result is two models that
are ideal for personal, desktop use. At the same time they have all the features required
for viewing, logging and source feeding to servers or nonlinear editing systems.
The J-1 Compact Player can playback Betacam SX®, Betacam SP® and Betacam® tapes,
while the J-2 Compact Player has the added playback capability of MPEG IMX™ tapes.
Both models have a Jog/Shuttle dial, 525/625 versatility, simple remote
control capability via RS-422A and audio meters - all packed into
their small bodies. They can even handle L-size cassettes.
