Maintenance Features
- General Precautions:
- Operate on 120 V AC, 60 Hz.
- Avoid exposure to rain, moisture, direct sunlight, excessive dust, mechanical vibration, or shock.
- Ensure adequate air circulation and do not block ventilation holes.
- Do not attempt to disassemble the cabinet due to laser beam hazard; refer servicing to qualified personnel.
- Cleaning the Cabinet: Use a soft cloth lightly moistened with a mild detergent solution. Avoid abrasive pads, scouring powder, alcohol, or benzine.
- Repacking: Keep the original carton and packing material for future transport.
- Moisture Condensation: If moisture condenses on the lens, remove the disc and leave the unit turned on for about an hour until it evaporates.
- Cleaning Heads and Tape Path (Cassette Deck):
- Clean after every 10 hours of use and before recording.
- Use a cotton swab slightly moistened with cleaning fluid or alcohol to wipe heads, pinch roller, and capstans.
- Ensure cleaned areas are completely dry before inserting a tape.
- Demagnetizing the Heads (Cassette Deck):
- Remove magnetism built up on the heads after every 20 to 30 hours of use.
- Turn off power before demagnetizing.
- Use a commercially available demagnetizer.
- Cleaning Discs (CD Player):
- Wipe from the center outward with a cleaning cloth.
- Do not use solvents like benzine, thinner, or anti-static sprays intended for analog discs.
