Usage Features:

The system offers comprehensive functionality for playing CDs, tapes, and radio.

CD Playback:

• Normal Play: Play up to five CDs in a row. Users can place CDs on the disc tray, use DISC SKIP to add more, close the cover, and press a DIRECT PLAY button to start playback. The system supports 12-hour time display.
• Repeat Play: Repeat a single CD or all CDs in Normal Play, Shuffle Play, and Program Play.
• Shuffle Play: Play all tracks on one CD or all CDs in random order.
• Program Play: Create a program of up to 32 tracks from all CDs in a desired order.
• Non-Stop Play: Play CDs without pausing between tracks.

Tape Playback and Recording:

• Recording on Tape Manually: Record from CDs, tapes, or radio. The recording level is automatically adjusted.
• Recording CDs by Specifying Track Order (Program Edit): Record tracks from all CDs in a desired order, ensuring playing times do not exceed tape side length.
• High-speed Dubbing: Record from tape to tape using TYPE I (normal) or TYPE II (CrO2) tapes. The recording level is automatically adjusted.

Radio Tuning:

• Preset Tuning: Preset up to 30 radio stations (20 FM, 10 AM).
• Listening to Non-Preset Radio Stations: Manually tune to stations.
• Timer-Recording Radio Programs: Record radio programs at a preset time.

DJ Effects:

• Looping Part of a CD (Loop): Repeat a section of a CD during playback to create original recordings. Loop length can be adjusted.
• Flashing Part of a CD (Flash): "Flash" the CD sound during playback. Flash length can be adjusted.
• Combined Loop and Flash: Use both effects simultaneously.

Sound Adjustment:

• Waving the Equalizer (Wave): Automatically fluctuate the graphic equalizer while listening to a source. Wave length can be adjusted.
• Adjusting the Sound: Reinforce bass (DBFB), create powerful sound (GROOVE), and listen with headphones.
• Super Woofer Mode: Select MOVIE or MUSIC mode for the super woofer (LBT-D290/G3300/XB3/XB3K only).
• Making a Personal Audio Emphasis File: Create and store up to five personal audio patterns (surround effect and graphic equalizer settings).

Karaoke Features:

• Singing Along: Reduce singer's voice on CD or tape (KARAOKE PON), reduce right/left channel on multiplex CD or tape (MPX R/L).
• Adjusting Microphone Echo: Adjust echo level (LBT-XB3K/XB4K/XB6K only).
• Adjusting Key: Adjust the key higher or lower in 13 halftone steps (-3.0 to 3.0) (LBT-XB3K/XB4K/XB6K only).
• Mixing and Recording Sounds: Record voice through the microphone with music.

Timer Functions:

• Wake-up Timer: Wake up to music at a preset time daily.
• Sleep Timer: Set the system to turn off at a preset time (10-minute increments).

Maintenance Features:

• Safety Check-Out: After service, perform a safety check for AC leakage from exposed metal parts.
• Notes on Chip Component Replacement: Never reuse disconnected chip components. Be aware of heat damage to tantalum capacitors.
• Flexible Circuit Board Repairing: Maintain soldering iron temperature around 270 °C, avoid touching the same conductor more than three times, and do not apply force to the conductor.
• Laser Safety: The appliance is a CLASS 1 LASER product. The laser component emits radiation exceeding Class 1 limits. A caution label is located inside the unit.
• Safety-Related Component Warning: Components identified with a mark or dotted line on diagrams/parts lists are critical for safe operation and must be replaced with Sony parts.

Connectivity:

• Connecting Optional AV Components: Enhance the system by connecting optional components like turntables and VCRs.
• Connecting Surround Speakers: Connect optional surround speakers (LBT-D590/D690/XB600/XB6/XB6K only).
• Connecting Outdoor Antennas: Improve reception by connecting an optional FM outdoor antenna (or TV antenna) and an AM insulated wire antenna. Grounding the outdoor antenna is important for safety.
