Record/Playback Head Azimuth Adjustment
Procedure :
1. Reverse Playback Mode

2. Turn the adjustment screw for the maximum output
levels. If these levels do notmatch, turn the adjustment
screw until both of output levels match together within
1dB.

4. Change the forward playback mode and repeat the steps
1 to 3.
5. After the adjustment, lock the adjustment screws with
suitable locking compound.

Tape Speed Adjustment
Perform high speed adjustment before normal speed adjust-
ment.
Procedure :

(high speed adjustment)
1. Short the connector TP1 (pins M and @). (test mode)
2. Keep on pressing the SYNCHRO DUBBING HIGH swit-
ch.
3. Adjust each RV72 so that the frequency counter reading
becomes within adjustment limits of 6,000+20Hz on both
of deck A and deck B.
4, Change the reverse playback mode and repeat the steps
2 and 3.
(normal speed adjustment)
5. After adjustment, open the connector TPI.
6. Keep on pressing the SYNCHRO DUBBING NORM
switch.
7. Adjust each RV71 so that the frequency counter reading
becomes within adjustment limits of 3,000+10Hz on both
of deck A and deck B.
8. Change the reverse playback mode and repeat the steps
6 and 7.
Frequency difference between the beginning and the end of
the tape should be within 3%.
Frequency difference between deck A and deck B the begin-
ning of the tape should be within 1.5%.
