Overview

This document is an assembly and instruction manual for a Soozier Magnetic Exercise Bike, model A90-165 (INada063V02_CA). It provides detailed information on safety, assembly, operation, and maintenance of the exercise bike.

Function Description:

The Soozier Magnetic Exercise Bike is designed for domestic, home use to provide cardiovascular exercise, tone muscles, and assist with weight loss in conjunction with a calorie-controlled diet. It features a magnetic resistance system, which is speed-independent, meaning the resistance level does not change based on pedaling speed. The bike includes a monitor that tracks various exercise metrics.

Important Safety Information:

Before assembly and use, users must read the entire manual to ensure safe and efficient operation. It is crucial to consult a doctor before starting any exercise program, especially if there are existing physical or health conditions, or if taking medication that affects heart rate, blood pressure, or cholesterol. Users should be aware of their body's signals and stop exercising if they experience pain, chest tightness, irregular heartbeat, extreme shortness of breath, light-headedness, dizziness, or nausea, and consult a doctor if these symptoms occur.

The equipment is designed for adult use only, and children and pets should be kept away. It must be used on a solid, flat, level surface with a protective cover for the floor or carpet, ensuring at least 0.5 meters of free space around it for safety. Before each use, all nuts and bolts should be checked for secure tightening, as parts like pedals can wear away. The safety level of the equipment depends on regular examination for damage and wear and tear. Users should always use the equipment as indicated and stop immediately if any defective components are found during assembly or checking, or if unusual noises are heard during use, until the problem is rectified.

Appropriate clothing should be worn during exercise, avoiding loose clothing that could get caught or restrict movement. It is recommended to start slowly, hold the handlebar tightly, and keep the body on the seat during exercise. The equipment is tested and certified to EN957 under class H.C., suitable for domestic use only, with a maximum user weight of 120kg. It is not suitable for therapeutic use. Care must be taken when lifting or moving the equipment to prevent back injury, using proper lifting techniques and/or assistance.

Assembly Instructions (Exploded View and Part List provided):

The manual includes an exploded-view assembly drawing and a detailed part list with quantities for each component.

  • Step 1: Stabilizers: Attach the Front Stabilizer (2) to the main frame (1) using two sets of domed nuts (3), curved washers (4), and M8x50mm key-head bolts (5).
  • Step 2: Seat Assembly: Assemble the seat (7) with the seat post (8). Adjust the angle of the seat and fix it tightly with two hexagon nuts (6).
  • Step 3: Seat Post Insertion: Insert the seat post (8) into the main frame (1) and align the holes. Secure the seat in position with the adjustment knob (9). The seat height can be adjusted after full assembly.
  • Step 4: Handlebar Attachment: Tighten the handlebar (11) to the main frame (1) with two bolts (10) and two curved washers (4).
  • Step 5: Computer Installation: Fix the computer holder (12) onto the handlebar (11) with a screw (13). Insert the computer (14) into the computer holder (12) and connect it with the wire.
  • Step 6: Pedal Attachment: Pedals (15 & 16) are marked "L" (Left) and "R" (Right). Connect them to their appropriate crank arms. The right crank arm is on the right side of the cycle when seated. Note that the Right pedal should be threaded clockwise, and the Left pedal anti-clockwise.

Usage Features:

The exercise bike offers a comprehensive workout experience, divided into three phases:

  1. Warm-Up Phase: This stage helps increase blood flow and prepare muscles, reducing the risk of cramps and injury. It involves light stretching exercises (e.g., side bends, inner thigh stretches, forward bends, outer thigh stretches, calf/Achilles stretches) held for approximately 30 seconds each, without forcing or jerking muscles.
  2. Exercise Phase: This is the main workout stage where effort is applied. Regular use improves leg muscle flexibility. Users should maintain a steady tempo, working at a pace sufficient to raise their heart rate into the target zone (graph provided, showing target zone between 70% and 85% of maximum heart rate, with age on the x-axis and heart rate on the y-axis).
  3. Cool-Down Phase: This stage allows the cardiovascular system and muscles to wind down. It involves repeating the warm-up exercises at a reduced tempo for about 5 minutes, followed by stretching, again without forcing muscles. This phase should last a minimum of 12 minutes, though most people start with 15-20 minutes.

Muscle Toning: To tone muscles, the resistance should be set quite high, which will increase strain on leg muscles. This might reduce workout duration. For combined fitness improvement and toning, users should train normally during warm-up and cool-down, but increase resistance towards the end of the exercise phase, reducing speed to maintain the target heart rate.

Weight Loss: The key factor for weight loss is the amount of effort and duration of the workout. More effort and longer workouts burn more calories.

Seat and Tension Adjustment:

  • Seat Height: The seat height can be adjusted by removing the adjustment knob (9), raising or lowering the seat post (8) to one of the 7 available holes, and then refitting and tightening the knob.
  • Tension Control: The tension control knob (17) allows users to alter the resistance of the pedals. High resistance makes pedaling more difficult, while low resistance makes it easier. For best results, tension should be adjusted while the bike is in use.

Monitor Operation:

  • Key Function:
    • MODE: Selects and locks onto a particular function.
    • RESET: Resets the displayed value to zero (press for 3 seconds).
  • Operation Procedures:
    • Auto ON/OFF: The system turns on when any key is pressed or when it receives a signal from the speed sensor. It automatically turns off after approximately 4 minutes of no signal input or key presses.
    • Reset: The unit can be reset by changing batteries or pressing the RESET key for 3 seconds.
    • Presetting Time, Distance, Calories: Press MODE until the desired function (TMR, DST, CAL) flashes. Press MODE again to stop flashing. Choose the desired value using MODE. The monitor will count down when the speed sensor receives a signal. If no data is preset, all functions will count up.
    • Display Functions: Press MODE to display TIME (TMR), SPEED (SPD), DISTANCE (DST), and CALORIES (CAL).
    • SCAN Function: Automatically displays TIME-SPEED-DISTANCE-PULSE-CALORIES in a repeating sequence.

Maintenance Features:

  • Regular Checks: The equipment's safety level can only be maintained through regular examination for damage and wear and tear.
  • Troubleshooting (Fault Finder): If the computer does not display numbers, ensure all connections are correct.
  • Battery Replacement: The monitor uses two "AA" or "AG" 13 batteries, which can be replaced at the back of the unit.
