How to fix a Southland SRTT196E Lawn and Garden Equipment engine that is difficult to start?
- AAngela GonzalesAug 6, 2025
If your Southland Lawn and Garden Equipment engine is difficult to start, several factors could be the cause. First, ensure you have fresh fuel in the tank. If the engine switch is off, turn it on. Make sure the engine is primed by moving the choke lever to the ON position. Check that the spark plug wire is securely attached to the spark plug. Inspect the spark plug for fouling and replace it if needed. Also, your air filter may be clogged, so remove and clean it. Finally, contaminated fuel can cause starting issues; drain the fuel tank, clean it, and refill with fresh fuel.
