    • T
      timothy97Sep 4, 2025
If the carburetor of your Sportsman Portable Generator is gummed up (likely if it has been sitting for a long time), remove the air box cover and air filter. Then, remove the two 10mm nuts holding the carburetor. Lift up on the throttle linkage on top of the carburetor to pop it off, and pull off the fuel line to slide the carburetor off. Turn the carburetor upside down and remove the 10mm bolt on the bottom of the bowl. Remove the pin holding the float, pull the float up, and inspect the float needle, ensuring the orifice is not gummed up. Remove the rubber gasket and clean the orifice with carb cleaner, avoiding spraying carb cleaner on the float needle or any rubber.
