This document is an instruction manual for the SPT SF-615H Evaporative Air Cooler with Humidifier. It provides detailed information about the product's functions, technical parameters, construction, operation, maintenance, and warranty.
Function Description:
The SPT SF-615H is an evaporative air cooler that also functions as a humidifier. It operates on the principle of water evaporation and melting ice to cool and humidify the surrounding air. The unit offers multiple functions including a cool fan, an ultrasonic humidifier, and air filtration. It is designed to be an economical way to achieve both cooling and humidification. The air cooler features a dual-layer air filter system, consisting of a nylon filter and a 3D Honeycomb cooling pad, which helps in capturing dust and pollen and enhances cooling performance.

Usage Features:
The SF-615H is equipped with an LED display and comes with a remote control, offering convenient operation.
- ON/OFF Button: Powers the unit on or off. When plugged in, an indicator light illuminates. The unit defaults to High fan speed upon activation.
- SPEED Button: Allows selection of three fan speeds: Low, Medium, or High. The corresponding indicator light illuminates to show the selected speed.
- SWING Button: Activates or deactivates the horizontal swing of the vertical louvers. An indicator light confirms the swing function is active. Vertical airflow can be manually adjusted.
- MODE Button: Selects the operating mode. If no indicator is lit, the fan is in normal mode at the selected speed.
- Natural Mode: Simulates natural airflow by alternating between different fan speeds according to a preset computer program. Schematics are provided in the manual for High, Medium, and Low speeds in Natural Mode.
- Sleep Mode: Operates according to a preset program, designed for quiet operation during sleep. Schematics are provided for High, Medium, and Low speeds in Sleep Mode.
- TIMER Button: Sets an off-timer from 1 to 12 hours, with each press adding a 1-hour increment. Illuminated lights indicate the total set time.
- COOL Button: Activates the cooling mode. The unit can function as an evaporative cooling device or as an evaporative cooling device with a humidifier.
- Evaporative Cooling Function: Requires water to be added to the tank. The unit cycles water to blow cool, humidified air. Ice or reusable ice packs (not included) can be added for enhanced cooling.
- Low Water Level Protection: If the water level falls below the MIN mark, the Cool/Humidifying function automatically shuts off, and the evaporative cooling indicator flashes. The function can be resumed by adding water.
Maintenance Features:
Regular maintenance is crucial for optimal performance and to prevent mold and mildew growth.
- Filter and Honeycomb Pad Cleaning: It is recommended to clean the filter and honeycomb pad every two weeks.
- Turn off and disconnect power.
- Remove the screw of the rear cover.
- Remove the filter and honeycomb pad.
- Wash the filter with a mild detergent and warm water solution, then rinse with clean water.
- Wash the honeycomb pad with clean water only, using a soft brush if needed.
- Replace the honeycomb pad, filter, and screw.
- Water Tank Cleaning: The water tank should be cleaned periodically.
- With the unit powered off and unplugged.
- Remove screws of the filter net, then take out the filter and honeycomb pad.
- Clean the main tank with a brush or cloth.
- The humidifier's smaller water tank is located inside the main tank. Unplug the rubber plugs from both tanks to drain dirty water. Note: The water tank cannot be removed due to tube connections; the image in the manual is for reference of the rubber plugs only.
- Replace both rubber plugs, honeycomb pad, and filter.
- Storage Preparation: Before storing the unit, clean the filter and honeycomb pad. Drain all water from both the humidifier tank and the main water tank. Allow all components to dry completely. Run the unit in fan-only mode for 30 minutes to dry the inside, which helps prevent mold and mildew.
Cautions:
- Use a correct power supply (120V / 60Hz) and plug into a dedicated socket with a minimum rating current of 3A.
- Do not tilt or move the unit after filling with water.
- Do not cover the unit.
- Avoid placing heavy objects on top of the air cooler or obstructing the air outlet.
- Do not place the unit in areas with extremely high or low temperatures (outside 41°F to 104°F).
- Change water frequently in high ambient temperatures to prevent mildew and mold.
- If used as a humidifier in cold weather (below 32°F), empty and dry the unit's surface after use to prevent water freezing.
- Avoid exposing the unit to water or spraying water onto the control panel LED. Do not use corrosive cleaners or solvents.
- Empty the water tank before moving the air cooler.
- Unplug the power source when not in use.
- Do not use the cool function in a damp and closed space.
- Do not insert fingers or foreign objects into the louver during operation.
- Do not operate the unit with a damp power cord or plug. If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced or repaired by a qualified electrician.
- Exercise basic precautions when operating near young children.
