How to troubleshoot a Stahlwerk MIG 200 when the power indicator is off, the fan isn't working, and there's no welding output?
    • J
      James NewmanAug 8, 2025
If the power indicator is not lit, the fan isn't working, and there's no welding output, ensure the air switch is closed. Some heat-variable resistors of the power panel may be damaged, causing the general DC24V relay to open or connectors to have poor contact. Check if the electric wire net is working, as the power panel (bottom board) might be damaged, preventing the DC 537V voltage output. Also, check the contact and insertion of cables from the air switch to the power panel, and from the power panel to the MOS board, ensuring they are reliably connected. The auxiliary power of the control panel could be faulty, indicating that the power panel has burned up.

If the power indicator is lit and the fan is working, but there's no welding output, check if all kinds of inter-machine cables have poor contact. Also, the output connector may be cut off or have poor contact. The control circuit might be broken.

What to do if the abnormal indicator is lit on my Stahlwerk Welding System?
    • C
      Christian HaleOct 27, 2025
If the abnormal indicator is lit, it might be due to overheating protection. First, turn off the machine and wait until the abnormal indicator turns off, then turn the machine back on. Waiting 2-3 minutes may also resolve the issue. If the problem persists, the inverter circuit may be faulty. In that case, pull up the supply power plug of the main transformer on the MOS board (VH-07 insert near the fan) and turn the machine on again. If the abnormal indicator is still lit, some fieldistors of the MOS board may be damaged; find and replace them with the same model. Also, the transformer of the middle board or the secondary rectifier tube of the transformer may be damaged. Measure the inductance volume and Q volume of the main transformer by inductance bridge, and if the volume is too low, r...
