Overview

This document describes the STANLEY FATMAX V20 Lithium Ion battery and charger system, including various battery models (SFMCB11, SFMCB12, SFMCB14) and charger models (SFMCB11, SFMCB12, SFMCB14, SFMCB201, SFMCB202, SFMCB204, SFMCB206).

Function Description

The STANLEY FATMAX V20 Lithium Ion battery and charger system is designed to provide portable power for professional and private, non-commercial use. The batteries are rechargeable Li-Ion battery packs, and the chargers are specifically designed to charge these STANLEY FATMAX Li-Ion batteries. The system includes features for monitoring battery status, charging progress, and detecting faults.

Usage Features

Intended Use: The STANLEY FATMAX SFMCB11, SFMCB12, SFMCB14 battery charger is designed for charging STANLEY FATMAX Li-Ion battery packs. This appliance is intended for professional and private, non-commercial use only.

General Safety:

  • Always take care when using the appliance.
  • This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
  • Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
  • The appliance is not to be used as a toy.
  • Use in a dry location only. Do not allow the appliance to become wet.
  • Do not immerse the appliance in water.
  • Do not open the body casing. There are no user-serviceable parts inside.
  • Do not operate the appliance in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust.
  • To reduce the risk of damage to plugs and cords never pull the cable to remove the plug from a socket outlet.

Charging the Battery (Fig. A):

  1. Plug the charger (1) into an appropriate outlet before inserting battery pack (4) or (5).
  2. Connect the charger (1) and battery pack (4) or (5), making sure the battery pack is fully seated.
  3. The green charging light (2) will blink continuously indicating that the charging process has started.
  4. The completion of charge will be indicated by the green charging light (2) remaining ON continuously. The battery pack (4) or (5) is fully charged and may be removed and used at this time or left in the charger (1).
  5. Charge discharged batteries within 1 week. Battery life will be greatly diminished if stored in a discharged state.

Charger LED Modes:

  • Charging: Green LED Intermittent
  • Fully Charged: Green LED Solid
  • Hot/Cold Pack Delay: Red LED Intermittent (Indicates battery temperature is outside the acceptable range for charging. Charging will resume automatically once the battery temperature returns to the acceptable range.)

Leaving the Battery in the Charger: The charger and battery pack can be left connected with the LED glowing indefinitely. The charger will keep the battery pack fresh and fully charged.

Hot/Cold Pack Delay: When the charger detects that a battery is too hot or too cold, it automatically starts a Hot/Cold Pack Delay. This is shown by the red LED blinking. Charging will automatically resume when the battery has reached an appropriate temperature. This charger then automatically switches to the pack charging mode. This feature ensures maximum battery life.

After Use:

  • When not in use, the appliance should be stored in a dry, well ventilated place out of the reach of children.
  • Children should not have access to stored appliances.

Maintenance Features

Cleaning and User Maintenance: Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

Inspection and Repairs:

  • Before use, check the appliance for damaged or defective parts. Check for breakage of parts, damage to switches and any other conditions that may affect its operation.
  • Do not use the appliance if any part is damaged or defective.
  • Have any damaged or defective parts repaired or replaced by an authorised repair agent.
  • Never attempt to remove or replace any parts other than those specified in this manual.

Disposing of Batteries: When disposing of batteries, follow the instructions given in the section "Protecting the environment".

Battery Care:

  • Do not damage/deform the battery pack either by puncture or impact, as this may create a risk of injury and fire.
  • Do not charge damaged batteries.
  • Under extreme conditions, battery leakage may occur. When you notice liquid on the batteries Carefully wipe the liquid off using a cloth. Avoid skin contact.
  • In case of skin or eye contact, follow the instructions below.
  • Warning! The battery fluid may cause personal injury or damage to property. In case of skin contact, immediately rinse with water. If redness, pain or irritation occurs seek medical attention. In case of eye contact, rinse immediately with clean water and seek medical attention.

Charger Care:

  • Your charger has been designed for a specific voltage. Always check that the mains voltage corresponds to the voltage on the rating plate.
  • Warning! Never attempt to replace the charger unit with a regular mains plug.
  • Regularly clean the ventilation slots in your tool and charger using a soft brush or dry cloth.
  • Regularly clean the motor housing using a damp cloth.
  • Do not use any abrasive or solvent-based cleaner.

Environmental Protection:

  • Separate collection. Products and batteries marked with this symbol must not be disposed of with normal household waste.
  • Products and batteries contain materials that can be recovered or recycled reducing the demand for raw materials.
