If your Stanley Portable Generator's engine won't start, it could be due to several reasons. First, check the oil level and top up the engine oil if it's low, as the oil shortage cut-out might have been activated. Also, inspect the spark plug; it may be fouled and need cleaning or replacement, ensuring the electrode spacing is between 0.6-0.8 mm. Another common cause is lack of fuel, so refuel the generator and check the petrol cock. Finally, if the battery voltage is too low, you'll need to charge the battery.
