Why does my STAR Water Systems 4H05A05001 Water Pump start too often?

If your STAR Water Systems water pump starts too often, the issue could stem from several causes. The pressure switch might need adjustment to wider operating pressure limits, or it may be defective and require replacement. Also, the air volume in the tank might be incorrect; check the pressure in the tank and set it to 2 lbs below the turn-on pressure of the pressure switch (e.g., a 30/50 pressure switch should have a tank pressure of 28 lbs). A check valve defect or a leak in the drop pipe could also be the culprit; try throttling the pump output at the gate valve. If the pump still doesn't shut off, it must be raised, and the defect repaired.
