Other potential causes include the battery or cordless product being too hot or cold – disconnect the battery and allow it to cool down or warm up. There could also be a malfunction in the battery; try disconnecting and reconnecting it. If 3 LEDs continue to flash red, contact a STIHL servicing dealer for assistance. If 4 LEDs continue to flash red and short beeps sound, stop using the battery and contact your STIHL dealer. Also, check for poor electrical contact – clean the connecting cable contacts. Finally, ensure the product and battery are dry.

  If your Stihl Battery Pack emits a rapid succession of beeps and 4 LEDs flash red, it indicates a malfunction in the battery. Disconnect the battery from the power tool, take it off your back, observe the battery and contact your STIHL servicing dealer immediately. If the battery emits fumes, heats up, smells, makes noises, or shows signs of deformation, disconnect it from the power tool, take it off your back, put it down and immediately move a safe distance away. Keep children and animals away from the work area. Keep battery away from combustible materials.

  If the charging process doesn't start when you insert the AP adapter into the charger for your Stihl Battery Pack, it may be because the battery is too hot or too cold. Simply leave the AP adapter in the charger, and the charging process will begin automatically once the battery reaches the appropriate temperature range.
