Several factors could prevent your Stihl Power Tool garden shears from starting. It could be due to a lack of electrical contact between the shears and the battery. Try removing and reinserting the battery, and visually inspect the electrical contacts. A low battery charge or a battery that's too hot or cold can also be the cause. Let the battery warm up or cool down gradually at ambient temperatures of about 50 °F to 68 °F (10 °C to 20 °C). There may also be a malfunction in the battery or garden shears, or the shears may be too hot; in this case, allow the garden shears to cool down. If problems persist, the battery or the garden shears have a malfunction and must be replaced.
