: Refit the sprocket cover – the pivot
pin on the hand guard must engage
the sleeve – and then screw nut on
to stud fingertight.
: Go to chapter “Tensioning the Saw
Chain”.
Retensioning during cutting work:
: Shut off the engine first –
and then loosen the nut!
: Hold the bar nose up and use
screwdriver to turn tensioning screw
(1) clockwise until chain fits snugly
against the underside of the bar.
: While still holding the bar nose up,
tighten down the nut firmly.
: Go to chapter “Tensioning the Saw
Chain”
A new chain has to be retensioned more
often than one that has been in use for
some time!
: Check chain tension frequently –
see chapter "During Operation".
: Shut off the engine.
: Wear work gloves!
: Chain must fit snugly against the
underside of the bar – and, with the
chain brake disengaged, it must still
be possible to pull the chain along
the bar by hand.
: If necessary, retension the chain.
A new chain has to be retensioned more
often than one that has been in use for
some time.
Check chain tension frequently! –
see chapter "During Operation".
