Usage Features

The dishwasher features a user-friendly control panel with an LCD display. Key controls include:

  • ON-OFF button: Press and hold for 2 seconds to turn ON.
  • Programming menu access button: Press and hold for 3 seconds to access the menu.
  • Drain pump/Self-cleaning button and ESC function: Used for draining and as an escape function in programming.
  • Select cycles and up/increase (+) function button: For navigating and adjusting settings.
  • Down/decrease (-) function button: For navigating and adjusting settings.
  • Start cycle light and Enter function: To start a cycle and confirm selections.
  • Power indicator: Green for ON, Red for OFF.

Initial Start-up: The first-time start-up involves entering specific data, including language and water hardness settings, to optimize detergent dosing. The manual emphasizes the importance of using Stoddart-provided detergent/rinse-aid to avoid voiding the warranty and warns against using cleaning agents with chlorines or other harsh chemicals due to corrosion risk.

Operation:

  1. Water Loading: Pressing the ON button initiates automatic water filling.
  2. Heating: The unit heats the water, indicated by a yellow START button. Once temperatures are reached, the START button turns green, signifying readiness for a wash cycle.
  3. Wash Cycle Selection: Users select a wash cycle (Glasses, Cups, Dishes, Intensive) using up/down buttons and confirm with the START button. A cycle can only begin if the door is closed, the wash tank is full, and water is heated.
  4. Cycle Status: During a wash cycle, the START button turns blue, and a countdown timer with a horizontal bar indicates progress. Opening the door for more than 10 seconds during a cycle will reset it.
  5. End of Cycle: At the end of a cycle, the START button blinks green, and the display shows "END CYCLE" until the door is opened.

Green Standby Energy Saving Function: This feature reduces boiler and tank temperatures during inactivity, indicated by "GREEN FUNC. ON" on the display. Standard operating temperatures resume when a wash cycle starts.

Programming (User): Users can access a programming menu to change settings such as language, temperature units, acoustic signal, initial message, brightness, automatic start cycle, and view total cycles.

Maintenance Features

The manual outlines essential cleaning and maintenance procedures to ensure the unit's efficiency and longevity.

General Cleaning:

  • Schedule: Regular cleaning is recommended.
  • Materials: Stainless cleaner, non-abrasive cleaning pad, clean sanitised cloth, paper towel, warm soapy water, and appropriate PPE are required.
  • Precautions:
    • DO NOT use abrasive pads, industrial chemical cleaners, flammable cleaners, caustic-based cleaners, or bleaches.
    • DO NOT remove screws or panels unless directed.
    • The unit is NOT waterproof; DO NOT hose, pour water directly on it, or immerse it.
  • External Surfaces: Clean with a damp cloth and warm soapy water, then wipe dry with a sanitised cloth. Avoid water pooling.
  • Air Trap: Located at the back left of the wash tank, it should be cleaned by removing the upper tank filter and wiping the area, being careful not to rotate it.
  • Wash/Spray Arms: Periodically check for blockages. If blocked, descale the machine. Remove securing screws, end caps, clear blockages, and re-install.

Corrosion Protection:

  • Stainless steel, while resistant, can rust if not properly maintained.
  • Clean any signs of mild rust with warm soapy water and dry immediately.
  • DO NOT use abrasive pads or cleaners.
  • Check all metal surfaces for damage during cleaning.
  • Treat mild rust with commercial cleaning agents containing citric/oxalic/nitric/phosphoric acid, but DO NOT use chlorine-based chemicals.
  • Thoroughly wipe surfaces dry after cleaning, ensuring no water pools.
  • Clean up food liquids immediately; DO NOT leave items like cutting boards or rubber mats on stainless steel surfaces.

Surface Finish: Dry polished stainless steel surfaces with a clean, soft cloth. A light oil can be applied to enhance the finish, applied in the direction of the grain. Be aware that some commercial cleaners may leave residue, making surfaces not food safe.

Daily Cleaning Cycle / Power Off:

  1. Remove the basket, loose items, upper tank filters, and the overflow plug.
  2. Close the door.
  3. Press and hold the "drain pump button" (3) for 3 seconds to initiate the "Drain and Self Clean" cycle, which displays "REMOVE OVERFLOW PIPE!" and "TANK DRAINING."
  4. Once the tank is drained, the display shows "SELF-CLEANING."
  5. After the cleaning cycle, the unit drains and enters "OFF" mode.
    • If the door is left open after pressing the drain pump button, the unit will only drain the tank, then standby for five minutes before going to OFF mode without cleaning.

Descaling:

  • Procedure: Use a quality descaling solution.
  • PPE: Always wear personal protective equipment.
  • Preparation: Ensure the overflow pipe is inserted and stainless-steel filters are correctly placed.
  • Process: Descale when the machine is full of water. Add 250ml of descaling solution per 5 litres of water capacity (or 500ml for glasswashers, 1000ml for dishwashers). For heavy lime build-up, spray undiluted solution on affected areas.
  • Cycle: Run the 'Intensive Cycle' (9 minutes).
  • Drain: Press and hold the "drain pump button" (3) for 3 seconds to drain the tank.
  • Rinse: Turn the machine on to refill, select and run the 'Dishes Cycle' (2 minutes). The machine is then ready for operation.

Troubleshooting and Alarms: The manual includes a detailed troubleshooting table for common issues such as the control panel not lighting up, tank not filling, inadequate washing results, unsatisfactory rinse results, excessive foam, and door/water leaks. It also lists alarm codes (01-15) with descriptions and user checks, advising to contact Stoddart service department for critical errors or persistent issues.
