Operations Model 6DS-SP Planarizer
3 - 18 Version 4.0 - February 1998
USER INPUT
Screen Function Key Labels and Function Keys: The screen function key
labels along the bottom of the screen describe choices possible at the
currently displayed menu. A choice is available if the password level permits
it and the machine's operation permits it. Any unavailable choice will be
"ghosted".
The menu selection functions and Abort/Reset choice are always available
and are never "ghosted".
Entering numbers: Numbers are conventionally entered using numerals,
the decimal, the hyphen, and the Enter key. The Backspace and Escape keys
can also be used.
Sometimes numbers are entered into "fields" in the menu area, and
sometimes they are entered at the end of the prompt line.
Number entry areas will first be yellow. When the first number entry key is
pressed, the field color will change to red, indicating the value is in the
process of being input by the user but is not yet confirmed by pressing the
Enter key. An unconfirmed value can still be edited. When the Enter key is
pressed, the value showing is confirmed, and the cursor color changes back
to yellow.
Escape by using the Escape key, moving the cursor off the item, or selecting
a menu.
(The rules controlling number entry also apply for entering letters when
creating a recipe name.)
Entering Choices: If a menu has word choices in any fields, the View
Choice and Enter Choice function keys will show.
View Choice permits scrolling through the choices (usually there are only
two or three choices). When using View Choice, the field color will change
from yellow to red which means a new choice is showing but is not yet
confirmed.
Enter Choice causes the currently showing choice to be confirmed and the
cursor color to change back to yellow.
Escape by either the Escape key, moving the cursor off the item, or selecting
a menu.
